No one trusted them. They got away with doing what they want because immigration was about 4th or 5th on the most important issues. Less laws and less legalization would have been better.
The legalization crowd are offering two insane options. Deport 12 million in 1 year or deport zero per year.
They should be getting a net outflow of illegals returning which happened because of the economy but more enforcement against employers would have a constant net outflow of illegals.
I hate that phrase “Pathway to citizenship”... Why do stupid Republicans use this phrase Democrats dreamed up? They need a pathway to deportation.
“If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.” - Alexander Hamilton
Scott Walker’s 20 minutes just ended, next!
How about they follow the path that’s already on the books?
Good. It took a LOT of posts before a Freeper remembered that this has been debunked. Why is the OP posting this crap from July???
The Hill is not a reputable source, the article is 6 months old and has been refuted. Let’s see some mainstream source assert this, this was a smear on Walker as the leftist media dislike him.
i want people here whohave proven tey will respect our laws, even the ones they don’t like. we have to.
scott, you are dead to me.
Wisconsin produces few true conservatives. Some just seem to show their true colors later than others.
These illegals are seen just as tokens by both sides, not as human beings with their own desires, actions and plans.
The other consideration never looked at, is that immigration is supposed to be to benefit the American People. How does this new Scott Walker plan benefit the American People?
Politically, Gov. Walker has just pulled a Rubio and blown up his chances to win in the GOP primaries.
I’ll bet if the U.S. Government offered each one of those illegal turds a check for five grand if they promised to leave and not come back, America wouldn’t have any “immigration” problems.
And this is why we can’t have nice things.
I say—if an illegal joins the military—serves his hitch well, maybe wins a few medals—he should granted citizenship along with his wife and kids. Those who earn the right should get it—BUT only if they serve.
don’t forget seismic checks for tunnels, they like tunneling under too.
I was thinking the same thing....who hasn’t sold their souls on immigration? How many can be bought out?? What’s wrong with a guest worker program?
why?
he’s trying to outflank christie with the latino vote.
Christie hosted Walker at the Giants-Packers game today. They look pretty happy together.
“I want them here.”
I don’t. We have been flooded with legal and illegal immigrants for a few decades already, Scotty Boy, and you may not have noticed—but some of us have—that while it’s a heck of a deal for the invaders, the citizenry which has to foot the costs hasn’t fared so well.
Let them go back to their own countries, close the borders, let us catch our breath, and then let’s start talking about a rational immigration policy that has as its chief objective what is most beneficial to the American people, not the Chamber of Commerce, Restaurant Association, and the elites in Mexico.
Anyone surprised?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Didn’t think so.
