Another state falls. The Mormon church and several Christian denominations went all out, it just was not enough. Heartbreaking for the over 1000 people who testified. Nationally the GOP did less than nothing to help Hawaii or Illinois or whatever state is next (New Mexico? Colorado? Oregon? Nevada? Pennsylvania?) Sad that the the grassroots is fighting so hard with no help, the one issue where we have a real multiracial, multi-religious coalition, but the national party does not give a damn. Social conservatives have no party in US.

This was predictable. Though reports indicated that opposition testimony was 10 to 1 in opposition, Hawaii’s lawmakers are invincible and will vote partyline. They will get reelected because after 60 years of 100% Democrat rule, conservatives see little hope in elections, rarely vote and turn off politics altogether. Consequently, Democrats always win.

Recognizing same sex marriage is not "legalizing a sin", rather it is propping up a falsehood.

The “gay marriage” thing is a farce, always has been, always will be. The states have dumbed it down to “civil union” status.

Let the craze envelop the US if it must. It’s another sign of how we need the mighty fortress that is God, and how that can NOT be legislated into place. It has to be accepted by choice into place by each and every heart that desires it. God is forcing gospel back to grass roots. We’ve trusted too much in ceremonial versions of Him, fit to talk about on our coins but not in our homes and businesses.

Indeed your tiredness is damned. Because it’s based in worldliness and yes I see your moniker and I ask what does it really mean?

“Those who wait upon the Lord will...” now how does that go?

The real power of the Lord digs in with a grin when everything else is shouting “Impossible! Impossible!”

God brought Himself to you. No government ever did.

Or let me say it a little more kindly. Are you tired enough to go to the One who authored rest? Rest from our own little frantic efforts followed then by strength for powerful works energized by His own spirit? And that does not panic no matter how dire the danger seems?

Let them. They will all have to answer to God for what they have done.

I find these people revolting and disgusting, and I don’t care who knows it. They are just perverts. I want nothing to do with any of them.

Of the states that don’t have amendments but don’t allow ‘gay marriage’, WVa is perhaps the one that will last the longest. The states that only passed their amendments in the 50%-low 60% ranges in the middle of the last decade might eventually repeal them by popular vote, if judges don’t cut out the middlemen.

Yes, Hawaii voter turnout is one of the worse in the nation. This battle is lost but the war goes on. There is little hope that the HRP will provide any leadership in opposing the current legislative trends. It will be up to the people to organize, stratagize and convince candidates to run who will excite conservatives to vote.

hey , why vote if can GO BEACH !?
Another factor seems to be that the Dems with their Union extensions , put on these great FEEDS , limitless kau-kau , all the great kine ‘local’ foods and get all da family come , and everybody feeling good and ohana . Then comes voting day and is there any doubt ? It’s ‘vote buying ‘ Aloha style , blatant and widely accepted . In the meantime the Hawaii Republican Party bickers and nit-picks and hold votes and make decisions without quorums . As for candidates they only support and share election funds with cronies while turning a cold shoulder to anyone that reeks of ‘Tea Party’ . They also seem completely incapable of thinking outside of their box , which is HONOLULU ONLY .
A lot of good Conservative folks and veterans retire here , and some even vote . But most seem to stay home , even though using Absentee and mail-in they can vote a good month in advance . So welcome to the islands of ‘Aloha’ and open homosexuality .....Sodom in da Pacific

Wow. Looking at the voting list and I see Rep. Jordan voted “Nay.” She is a lesbian.

How long until the gay gestapo starts smearing her now for this or calling her self-hating?
