one is a new mom, and another is due to give birth soon.Fathered by the same man no doubt.
Gee, he asked to get his pay cut to keep benefits.
“Sewell asked his employer to lower his wages to $9 an hour instead.
Why? He did the math and found that $12 an hour was just enough to cause a reduction in his government benefits, and could cost him and his family its Medicaid coverage for health care.”
They spend a lot of time in the baby-making position on the bed though.
Am I suppose to have sympathy for her? Two adult daughters living with her and they are in no position to work because one is a new mom and one is pregnant? Where are the fathers? It has been a long time since I had my children, but I always worked and I took my 6 weeks maternity leave and then went back to work. We weren’t in a position for me to stay home, but of course getting welfare was never even a thought.
Also, I think $800 a month will buy a little more than rice.
I know what you mean. Just this week, I was behind a woman who was buying wine with her EBT. And I keep hearing they can’t buy anything except food.
Don’t breed ‘em if you can’t feed ‘em
And this is supposed to make me empathize with these parasites?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
For families such as this, I think the government should pay for having the non-working “takers” tubes tied. And having that done should be a prerequisite for receipt of food stamps. America can no longer afford to subsidize the procreation of these folks who are proven to be incapable of supporting themselves.
Sounds to me like they aren't in a position to have kids out of wedlock. So why in the hell am I as a taxpayer (at the point of a gun) subsidizing this lifestyle?
I’ll guarantee you that both of those daughters are already receiving cash aid for no daddy in the house too.
That’s a pretty nice house and patio I see behind her. Much nicer patio furniture than we own. All those potted plants could be turned into a container garden that would produce veggies year round in Florida. Then lets talk about her obviously salon styled and colored hair. She spent a fortune on her cosmetics.
She is wearing gold jewelry and an expensive embroidered top, too.
I also have emphysema. I can do quite a few things that could earn money. Thousands of jobs involve sitting down.
This woman has nothing to complain about. From the look of things she shouldn’t be receiving public assistance at all.
This is Morey live!!
“Better to be a paid wh*re, than a broke sl*t.”
Bravo, best line of the day!
It said “rice-based meals,” in other words a lot of rice with some protein on top. But I get your point.
Sad that the other person in the story couldn’t take the higher-paying job without losing his Medicaid. There’s no way around that kind of thing, I guess, but it sure is a speed bump for those who are trying to escape from the handout system.
Actually the pregnant one doesn’t even have to have the baby yet to qualify for AFDC. They put you on early so you can ‘prepare’ for the baby.
The one with the baby is getting WIC. The pregnant one is likely getting WIC as well.
So they’re getting $800/month PLUS big boxes of food from the WIC pantry. And WIC around these parts is NOT off label, it’s the expensive name brand Gerber stuff that we had to coupon extensively to afford.
I cannot see any reason for granny, grandpa and the new mom not to work. Daughter about to give birth could watch the newborn baby. Also, of course, once the next baby is born they will have another foodstamp allotment.
Till they get down to fish heads and rice, they are eating high on the hog.
They each get about six and a half dollars a day for food, not counting the grandchild. Yep, they be eating high on the hog.
Now where is my violin, I know I left it around here, somewhere.
