Experts stunned at cost for Healthcare.gov website development
My FOX-TV DC ^ | October 22, 2013

“My overall sense, right from day one, was it was created by people who had never created a commercial database application before," said FMS Software developer Luke Chung.

Chung looked over the site and was stunned by the code and the cost - by some estimates, perhaps $200 million.

Chung continued, “At $200 an hour, that would be a million man hours, 5,000 man years. I don't think they had time to use 5,000 man years. So I don't know where the money went. I don't know what these people were doing. There're not that many web pages. I don't get it! Where'd the money go?"

Congress should investigate where the money went.

Good point...they should have just had the people who run the NSA set this up and operate it.

“At $200 an hour, that would be a million man hours, 5,000 man years."

Yes, read it and weep. This is typical for anything that Washington puts its hands on.

For the mathematically challenged, it comes out to 500 people working for a year at $200/hour.

So I don't know where the money went. I don't know what these people were doing.

Welcome to Obamacare 101.

I don't get it! Where'd the money go?

He doesn't get it? Seriously? After a 5-year-long communist assault on the Constitution?

This gets so depressing.

You remember during the last election how we were told the Democrats had such great voter tracking and contact software? How it was much better and more high tech than anybody had ever seen before? How people were saying, Wow where did that come from, must have cost a fortune. Remember that?

According to the recent reports, the HealthCare.gov website program was written by “seasoned Obama political campaign IT operatives.” and not and not qualified software developers experienced for this type of application.

The reason given for their employment was to avoid Republican subpoenas

Kind of makes you wonder

Really not that outrageous for a project of this magnitude.

Except, of course, for the fact that it doesn’t work.

Just like all the other guvmit “jobs” that were created out of the blue for this Kenyan.
They are given to his bros from the ghetto, his freinds from ‘kill whitey’ church, his campaign contributors, Laqueesha the single mom with 9 kids now making $70k a year at her guvmit desk.

I guarantee every person involved in th creation of that website is a minority and had no job before this and no past experience. Affirmative action hires, every one.

I heard it was a $22k donation that netted the $200 million contract.

That's a pretty good ROI.

It's good to be a crony™

A little off topic, but here is a great example:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/aug/22/nsa-surveillance-review-panel-insiders

“Review of US surveillance programs to be led by panel of intelligence insiders...

List of apparent panel members prompts criticism among privacy advocates after Obama promised ‘independent’ review”

The money went into politicians pockets or the pockets of big donors that are keeping them in office.

Stunning how some still think obamacare is good.

This regime can’t even get a website working, they then tell us the cost will be better for us all and yet we see hundreds of millions spent on a failed website and then premiums go up.

These supporters have got to be in a cult mode or something, they have to as they can’t be that stupid, can they?

This article (citing USASpending.GOV) puts the costs much higher than that:

“The site so far has cost American taxpayers more than $630.4 million, nearly seven times its original estimate of $93 million...”

There needs to be an IG audit the cost and where the money went.

I once asked a site developer how he determined how much to charge a client. He admitted that he found out how much they were willing to pay for the site, and that’s what he charged.
