Do they need any paper?

Public employees are like hoards of locusts. They won’t stop until they’ve eaten it all.

Judge Michael Barasse is an open enemy of the USA.

So when the unions “sell” everything, then what? Scranton turns into another Detroit?

Public sector unions should never have been allowed to exist. Even Franklin Delano Roosevelt knew they were a continuing criminal enterprise looking for a place to happen.

Cities have been declaring bankruptcy since the 1830’s at least. The orgional argument against that was that the city could always simply raise taxes. Since the people who paid the taxes presumably benefited from the money their government spent, or were complicit in the spending because they elected the government and then did not fire it.

The only purpose for Scranton now is to serve as an ugly abject lesson to the rest of the country. The more damage the unions do, the more of a lesson they become.

But how will the city firefighters (union) continue on the job with no trucks? The same with the city’s cops (union).

I wonder what the un-intended consequences of decisions like these will be?

Another question is can the citizens of a community like a city use the voting process to dissolve the bonds between the ‘entity’ of a city and themselves?

In any case I’m coming to the realization that perhaps the concept of cities as we have seen them grow in the last two-hundred years has become a very flawed one. Where a very small cabal of people can behave like the ‘lords of the manor’ in the feudal period.

Unions are going to seize property owned by the taxpayers.

Fire them all.

Simple - turn the “keys” of the city over to the union and tell them, okay, you own it, you run it.

Sell off every Police Department structure.

The union corporation must be made to pay all the bad shooting awards paid in civil litigation.

Yet another example of "promise them anything/everything", and then when you can't "pay the piper", just say "oops"...what frosts me is, ALL ALONG I'm sure the promisers knew that eventually the promises couldn't be kept.

So now, what are they going to do?

Perhaps a federal "bankruptcy bail-out"? So my taxes can be diverted to Scranton? My own Ohio community needs all the tax money it can get, and I need all the money I can get to make it in this economy...this "top down" city/county/state/federal tax burden on anyone who makes ANY money at all has got to stop!!

/ rant

Ohhhh c’mon.. Those cops and fireman have LOTS of Jet Skis, Harleys, Boats/Yachts, Motorhomes, vacation homes & cabins, season tickets, luxury cars, fine food and Rolex’s to pay for!

A fine example why unions are a communist style disgrace to America.

It’s probably a safe bet that property taxes will skyrocket. It’s not free money.

It’s probably a safe bet that property values will plummet. People will not be able to get market value when they leave.

Perhaps unofficially, what I am suggesting is that they be given the responsibility of running a city.

Oh I know, I’m saying there would be little difference between the two.

In November Scranton will elect the public employee unions hand picked candidate for mayor.

Bankruptcy is the only out for Scranton.
