Thirteen people, including a 3-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, were shot at a Chicago park in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Thursday night, authorities said.

Ten adults and the 3-year-old were transported by Fire Department ambulances after the attack in the 1800 block of West 51st Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, said Fire Department Deputy District Chief James Mungovan at the scene. A 12th victim was believed to have driven himself to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, a source said, citing preliminary information.

Police said later a total of 13 people were shot, the boy, two teens, and 10 adults, with the boy the most seriously wounded. The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the head at an ear that exited through his mouth, and was in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

...

Chicago police were making no information about what happened public, except to say that the shooting appeared to be gang-related. The shootings took place on a basketball court on the 51st Street side of Cornell Square Park near Wood Street.

51st atreet at the Lake is Hyde Park, Obamas old neighborhood. I know cause I used to live in Hyde Park. 1800 block west is getting into a bad neighborhood. Lots of Obama sons there.

By what crazy calculus would anyone think a teen girl would make a good mom?

In my genealogy data base I find lots of 14-15 year old girls getting married. Within a year they are having the first of their dozen or so children. (Usually with the same husband, until death do they part.)

It was not uncommon 100+ years ago. Now we try to treat them as children until they're 26.

Having alot of children is the rule, not the exception, in human history.

Why?

Infant mortality.

Ah, of course - silly me. :-) And what better well for the gun-grabbers to draw a story from, than that putrid cesspool of gangland that is Chicago?

Black shooter(s)? No MSM coverage to be expected. Nothing to see here, move along.

I guess the Mods are part of the MSM now since they yanked it this story out of Breaking News.

They had no real say in the matter. It’s only in our modern “civilized” culture that we can just do it for fun without personal responsibility.

Danged gun free city just seems to have too many gangs and thugs with guns. Honest folks keep getting shot and murdered by being unarmed. Not this poster. I’m armed and every thug better consider me dangerous at his own peril.

"the media is going to do whatever it takes to demonize guns" because we could never actually blame the PEOPLE who fired the guns. That might imply a need for individual responsibility. The collective won't stand for that.

... and a three year old was hanging out with a bunch of gangbangers at 10:30pm BECAUSE???

A. It was too early for Midnight Basketball.

B. Early Childhood Gang Training.

C. Community organizing, because most of the unemployed in the area sleep in late in the mornings, so they can stay up late 'organizing'.

If one guy was shot at 51st street, why’d he drive several miles to LCM instead of going to UC hospital nearby? Afraid he’d get shot again?

Well. think about it. The person(s) who decide “What is news”, well that’s just about the ultimate power.

If they decide that “news” is a couple of gay characters who can’t get wedding photos, then that’s what you are going to hear about. If they decide that “news” is fires in California, then that’s it.

Being in control of the broadcast media they can make “the news” be whatever they want.

And that includes making up "the news" to be whatever they want.

I recently have been working through my family tree as well. Just one or two generations back and it seems to be very common to have 8-12 children. My own mother had 13 brothers and sisters.

And I do find the girls often got married off at a very young age.

Oddly, I am starting to believe teen girls/boys back then were far more mature than what we have today. They knew a lot from being planters or farmers and they also had engrained in them a work ethic and family values, plus a healthy dose of religion.

Somewhere along the line in our culture...it became far more important to keep a child immature and we see that result in the number of “adult children” still living at home in their parent’s basement. I do very much use the term “adult children” and I see it up close nearly everyday in my work.

Grown “kids” still living at home. I show up to take the dog for the daily walk. Every day at several homes there is an ‘adult child’ home watching TV, playing games etc. Why are the parents paying a dogwalker several hundred dollars a month to walk the dog? The only answer I can come up with is because the adult child can’t handle the simplest of responsibility.

Personally I agree it is an amazing culture change when one considers the bigger picture.

Goebbels would curse the fact that he was born 75 years too early, and in the wrong country.

PS. ...it became far more important to keep a child immature

And consider some of the recent gun shooting reports...characterizing these young adults and "children" to the point of even using photos several years back.

If they keep this generation 'immature' and the culture viewing them as some sort of innocents...then the elites have every reason to exert control over them.

So do I recall reading on FR just yesterday, that Chicago now has the highest murder rate in the entire country?

The most restrictive gun control as well.

Well that is just a coincidence though.

Bozos.
