That’s good. That’s the American way. But will they vote Republican when they see that the democrats hate private enterprise?

That's absolute horse-s**t. They may agree with the GOP on everything else, but when Latinos see morons like you guys posting racist crap about them, it's awfully hard to get to a conversation about personal freedom and individual responsibility. Maybe we'd get a few more folks voting Republican if it weren't so easy to get the sense that a lot of Republicans hate them.

The surge in Hispanic-owned businesses reflects the rapid growth of the Hispanic population.

Of which many are here under questionable circumstances. I have noticed that a fair number of them are not the stereotypical illiterate laborers but educated or talented middle class type people. They normally start off as low level laborers and learn a craft, then start a business.

There are tremendous opportunities for bi-lingual businesses to provide services to the non English speakers.

Yep, it is a stupid thing to do.

Proudly married to a CONSERVATIVE latino/hispanic business owner since 1983.

It’s time we quit being racist.

My DH has been a citizen of this country his entire life!

once they open their own business they will reconsider, just watch.

No one likes to be told what to do by government, and no one likes to be excessive taxes.

Owning a business will turn nearly anyone into a Republican

Don’t let the facts get in the way of your little s***-fit, amigo.

Who cares?!

How is this any different than Italian-owned businesses, or Greek-owned businesses, or French-owned businesses?

“once they open their own business they will reconsider, just watch.”

Yeah, well—hold one hand out and wish to the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; now, cup your other hand behind your Obama—watch to see which gets filled fastest.

Mysteriously, the number of Mexican restaurants, painting and roofing businesses have doubled in the same time.

That's absolute horse-s**t.

Thank you, I lived on the southern border for many years working with countless Hispanics in the military, local state and federal law enforcement.

In addition I have several Hispanic friends who own businesses large and small. All are patriotic Americans "hasta las gacha" (to the bone)as I am.

They are as Mexican as I am Irish, which is to say not at all, some of their families have been here much longer than mine.

They have served their country with dedication and distinction and I cringe every time someone on FR makes a foolish statement lumping them together with illegals and other assorted DEM useful idiots.

The Italians, Greeks, and French didn't create Third world hellholes like Mexico.

Apparently you are. I wasn't arguing that the GOP should embrace amnesty, I was arguing that it should drop racism. It's racism that turns off Latinos -- and whether or not amnesty passes is irrelevant as long as Latinos think the GOP hates them.
