AMMAN — The Muslim Brotherhood on Wednesday denounced a planned Western-led military strike against Syria, urging the government to reject international intervention as it may lead to a “second Iraq”.
In its statement, the Islamist movement voiced rejection of any military intervention in Syria “regardless of its merits and justifications”.

The Muslim Brotherhood knows that they only have a chance to take over if the USA is not involved. If the US intervenes we will never allow Assad’s WMD to fall into the hands of the opposition. The Saudis who are arming the opposition also will never tolerate the MB coming to power just like they could not tolerate them running Egypt. Obama may personally sympathize with the MB, but in the end he will obey his Saudi masters who paid for his education. That’s why Obama has not called Morsi’s ouster a coup or cut off aid.
