The B-1’s assigned to Ellsworth where grounded due to the sequester and just recently went back to flying.

You’re thinking of the stealth B-2.

$300 million new maybe, but come on, the value drops by a lot when you drive it off the lot and its so old....

Even worse than $300,000,000... NOT REPLACEABLE and nothing in the pipeline to replace it.

Same with all of our combat aircraft other than the F-35. I would say viable but I don’t consider the F-35 a viable combat aircraft.

Uggghhhhh.

The B-1B Bomber was my plane back in the day. (Avionics, not a pilot).

In a way, it's hard to put a price on one.

We don't make them any more and there are only a handful left.

It's capabilities make it unique, valuable and deadly.

There have been some gorgeous warplanes, the Spitfire, Mosquito, Mustang, Me-262, F-86, F-16 for examples, but, to me, the B-1B is probably the most beautiful of them all.

I'm glad the crew got out okay, but am sorry for the loss.

They have 30 or so in storage.

If the wings ever froze in the ‘swept back’ position that would be one scary situation.. Not sure what happened though. Amazing that the crew ejected safely.

It's close, but yeah, even more than the A-10.

The A-10 is badass cool.

Probably not up to today's surface to air threats, but still packs a punch and used to put on a good performance demonstration at airshows before obama's sequester.
