Yeah...”resist we much”
No Cheney.
Cheney is not conservative.
Liz Cheney agrees with the radical left wing homosexual agenda. She wanted DADT ended and rejoiced when it was, she was against DOMA, is against a constitutional amendment to save marriage, and supports gay marriage, and supports the State department move to the gay agenda.
” Ironic that in another related thread yesterday, she was talking about what Wyomingites needed. How the hell does SHE know what they want or need? Carpetbagger! “
I’m thinking another “Dubya” amnesty vote.
I agree. And I bet she’s soft on the border & immigration whereas Enzi is excellent on the issue from what I understand.
She has spent years promoting the homosexual agenda, and at age 46, after all these years of politics, Romney support, and interviews, no one knows her abortion views.
To me that tells us what her abortion views are, no matter how she tries to soft pedal them at some future point when she is cornered and has to answer.
I know exactly what’s going through her head.
She’s been selected by the GOP-e to run. They want a reliable, pliable candidate who will be reliably interventionist in middle eastern affairs, ready to carry water for the Federal Reserve and the Wall Street cartels, etc.
They know Enzi is getting old(er) and they’re seeking to lock up this seat before it gets vacated and a possible “Tea Party” populist can get their foot in the door and the neo-cons lose more influence in the Congress.
She’s thinking “I have the GOP party hacks and money men behind me, so I should win against a guy who is the favorite of a bunch of gap-toothed hillbillies, rednecks and snaggle-toothed ranchers and their cows.”
No real difference between the two. I suspect Cheney may be more liberal than Enzi. Don’t need socially liberal pro amnesty neocons. If Cheney campaigned against amnesty, I’d be interested.
I know she claims 160 years of family history in Wyoming, but it's not her dad or grandpa running. I have family history in New York and Limerick. It doesn't mean I've from there or have personal history there.
If she moved to Jackson, that probably makes it even tougher.
My one major problem problem is carpetbagging. I don't like it at all. A lot of small town people resent it in a major way.
I wonder if this is part of a push to stop the growth of females within the GOP from being conservative females, “grizzly mamas”.
Liz Cheney is a perfect rino/social liberal leader to represent a non-threatening GOPe female counter to the grizzlies.
Speak and vote against every single "gay rights" bill in Washington for the last 18 years, while your gal embraced them and applauded the left for pushing it.
I'm sure Cheney thinks she knows exactly what the average Wyoming resident is thinking. After all she's lived in Jackson Hole for what, seven months now?
I’ve been talking to some people, and will be talking to a lot more people (and getting deeper into GOP party issues in the rest of this year), and this is what we’re thinking:
Enzi is getting older. If he wins this election, it is likely to be his last. In 2020, the seat would be open. Most people think that this way - given the age of Enzi at the end of this next term.
If Enzi were to just walk into the next term, it leaves Wyomingites time to find a good candidate on the issues and get them in place to run when Enzi retires.
Odds are that a home-selected candidate would be more like the Tea Party type candidates, and given the recent political winds I’m seeing in Wyoming, they’d also be pretty isolationist. We’ve meddled enough with no good result in the middle east, we’re about to let Afghanistan go back to the dark ages with little to nothing to show for our blood and treasure there.
Oh, and we’re broke.
The Feds continue to meddle in western states, and the sage grouse issue, “war on coal” issues, wolf predation issues, lack of oil/gas leases, stupid wind turbines blighting our landscapes, etc - someone needs to buckle down and work hard on the economics issues of our state. A guy like Cruz looks pretty good, but what we really need is someone who knows the state economic issues in great detail. We’re fundamentally a resource extraction state (oil/gas/coal, grazing/farming/etc), and the Feds are meddling in all those issues.
This sort of candidate would be a horror for the GOP-e. They want reliable internationalists, free-trade-uber-alles types, supporters of the Federal Reserve, etc.
Well Wyoming will make its own decision. We have our own senate race here in GA coming up. We have to elect a super conservative hopefully Paul Broun.
Wyoming will make it’s own decision of course, but it is important that all conservatives fight to keep pro-gay, pro-abortion rinos from gaining power within the party or taking existing seats.
With all due respect we don’t need more in your face Senators, unless they are in your face Constitutional Senators like Paul and Cruz. It doesn’t do any good to have a “fighter” out there who is a disciple of her father, Karl Rove, Bill Kristol etc.
More drones, more spy state/police state crap for our “protection”.
Thanks for the insight.
What "gay rights" bill has she embraced? At least my gal won't try to tax us into poverty.
The repeal of DODT so gay activists can flaunt their “alternative lifestyle” in the military. That’s why DailyKos is actively discussing backing your gal. It wouldn’t surprise me if Wyoming Dems crossed over in the GOP primary so they can get a “gay friendly” vote in the Senate.
Liz Cheney has been aggressive and public in her support of the homosexual agenda and vocal in her praise of it’s victories.
See post 42 and 45. Your gal is a lefty on social issues, at war with conservatism.
