numerous disenchanted Democrats

You are absolutely right. I believe there are more (D) conservatives than we can imagine out there wishing for new options. Here in Utah they are Democrats mainly because of a misconception that Mormons are Republicans. In our world, (art dealers) most of the real players are conservative. Here in Utah most are also Democrats.

Any connection I have left with the GOP is hanging by the thinnest of threads. The Party no longer seems to share any of my values or ideology, as it has repeatedly caved on just about every ‘fiscal’ and ‘social’ conservative issue that I care about. The backstabbing treatment given Palin over these past few years by the GOP leadership/establishment was a massive wake-up call for me. They hate her and what she stands for, thus they hate me and what I stand for.

For nearly thirty years, I always watched and looked forward to the RNC conventions. But in 2012, I only felt deadness towards it. This year, it has only been more cavings, watching supposed GOP “conservatives” Rubio pushing amnesty, Toomey going for gun registration, Ryan embracing homo adoption. Add fiscal cliffs and everything between. Just no connection anymore with this pathetic entity known as the Republican Party.

Thats why trying to ‘fix’ the gop is a waste. Some Dems will NEVER vote GOP just because of the name and baggage. But they may well support many conservative ideas WITHOUT the GOP attached.

I could never leave the GOP. They left me in ‘88.

GO FREE REPUBLIC!

Actually...the Free Republic Party sounds better to my ear than the Freedom Party.

I constantly get junk mail from RNC asking for donations, which I toss. If a large number return their postage paid envelopes with a message- “Waiting for the Freedom Party”, that would be a great wake-up call.

I'm guessing that these Republican push-polls just go to a bank employee who deposits the check and discards the rest.

You just know Boehner will try his best to push something through that can be dismantled in conference, then weep and act surprised.

You have him perfectly nailed....LOL.

Sorry, I had to laugh, even though this is too serious for laughing.

No small point, I would like to please repeat that.

There are a whole lot of Democrats who simply will not vote for a Republican.

Just because.

It is something to ponder. If Palin moves to a new party, there will not be that long-established “GOP” wall, many Dems see as a no-vote zone.

I think it will be a challenge for Palin to define a new party, particularly with BOTH major parties trying to define it at the same time.

But just thought I would mention that.

It is not all negative.

In many states, including my state of Pennsylvania, they make it extremely hard for a third party to get candidates on the ballot. I’m all for a new party but it isn’t going to be easy...

For all the bitching we do, there are still Reagan Dems alive out there. They just have no voice. There are also younger Dems not DU moonbat, but the albatross will NEVER EVER allow them to vote that way.

Look at the Paulites. Some of them actually ARE conservative in many ways. But they too will NEVER vote GOP. Because the GOP and it’s no principle BS will roll on them and they know it.

They may never campaign for Palin, but they would vote for her a hell of a lot faster than the next Romney. BECAUSE they share many of OUR beliefs.

you are correct ... about state rules written by both the democrats and republicans. They will make it and do make it very difficult. I’m ready to try though. We can change the rules once we get the needed wins. If this goes nationwide it could develop into a tidal wave not seen since Lincoln.
