(VIDEO AT LINK)

During an interview with FOX Business, former Rep. Ron Paul explained that he was concerned about the well-being of National Security Agency whistle-blower Edward Snowden.

“I’m worried about somebody in our government might kill him with a cruise missile or a drone missile,” Paul explained. “I mean we live in a bad time where American citizens don’t even have rights and that they can be killed, but the gentlemen is trying to tell the truth about what’s going on.”

Paul added that there were no signs of Snowden defecting to a foreign country, which meant that he was not really a threat.....

John Bolton is the GOP-E beltway crowd that has been fighting a no-win war on terrorism like they fought a no-win war in Vietnam.

domestic spying is unavoidable and to be expected

Let me remind you of your rights.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Now tell me the following:

See my post at 243. Whether or not Snowden is a hero is irrelevant. montanajoe asserts that the NSA’s spying on domestic communications is unavoidable and to be expected. He justifies his assertion under the premise of national security.

YEs,thus far I agree with Mountainjoe.... already Alkaida and Terrorist groups are switching their communication since Snowdens leaks....via Fox news this morning...

you can’t say it hasn’t affected how the enemy behaves...and that now makes all the more areas of communication security teams now have to monitor, spreading out all the more in order to follow.

“...But I believe ‘silencers’ in this country are illegal, no??......:)...”

No, suppressors (”silencers”) are not illegal. They’re NFA Class III items, you simply need to have the tax stamp and paperwork for them, and they’re legal to own in almost every state (except the usual suspects).

And they’re not “silencers” - they simply reduce the noise, especially when you use subsonic ammunition, but they’re not silent. Reduces the “BANG!” to a snap, like a nail gun, and you don’t need to wear ear protection with them.

In Finland, where they have an active gun culture, suppressors are REQUIRED due to noise ordinances and population density. They help reduce hearing damage, for sure.

They quiet things down a bit, but it sure isn’t silent.

I have no use for folks who don't place the Defense of this great Country above any other considerations.

Says everyone who has ever wrapped himself or herself up in the flag in order to defend the indefensible.

Please explain how the ever-changing communication methods of foreign terrorists creates probable cause for the NSA to search and seize the electronic communications of all U.S. citizens?

How do you reconcile that with the 4th Amendment right of every individual U.S. citizen to be secure in his papers and effects from unreasonable search and seizure?

I am not being adversarial. I truly want to understand why both of you believe that national security interests outweigh a sacred constitional guarantee.

montanajoe has asserted that there is precedent for suspending constitutional liberties during a time of war. While that is true, I would point out that previous wars fit the mold of conventional war within a finite period of time. The WOT, however, is unconventional with an indefinite timeframe. Are we to suspend constitional liberties indefinitely?

I think this quandry is the result of our unwillingness to engage in total war against radical Islam with an end result of total destruction. We broke our own rule of “you’re either with us or you’re against us.” Why should our civil liberties be the price for failure of leadership in a time of war?

Radical Islam could care less what “management” the country is under,

Perhaps, but they do much better when "management" is on the same side or at least very sympathetic.

In case you hadn't noticed, this ain't your daddy's America any more. Welcome to the New World Order.

Did Snowden break the law? Yes. Is he a traitor? I don’t know.

Our forefathers broke the law. They were considered traitors.

I suggest you read what you have written

Unnecessary as I composed and proof read it.

What secrets has he stolen and what has he given away?

He's a self-admitted thief. I have no idea what he has stolen, sold or given away. He's a criminal just like so many in the Obama administration.
