Boehner calls for release of Benghazi emails as pressure grows on administration

Pressure on the Obama administration to release more information about the Benghazi attack grew Thursday, as House Speaker John Boehner demanded officials turn over emails pertaining to the controversial "talking points" and another top Republican appealed for more whistle-blowers to come forward.

On the heels of a dramatic hearing where three whistle-blowers testified, Fox News has learned that former Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday, on the Hill for a meeting with House Republicans, also told lawmakers: "I think Hillary (Clinton) should be subpoenaed if necessary."

The comments and developments signal that Republicans will continue to press for answers on the deadly Sept. 11 attack. Despite arguments from Democrats that the hearing was not nearly as shocking as Republicans made it out to be, GOP lawmakers said it raised troubling questions that need to be investigated.

"The truth shouldn't be hidden from the American people behind a White House firewall," Boehner said Thursday. "Four Americans lost their lives in this terrorist attack. Congress will continue to investigate this issue, using all of the resources at our disposal."

Boehner specifically urged the Obama administration to make public a set of internal emails that some lawmakers had been able to review but not keep.

One of the emails apparently showed a top State Department official saying a group affiliated with Islamic terrorists was responsible for the strike. Separate emails, though, allegedly depict the White House and State Department pressing lower-level officials to remove references to terrorism in talking points about the attacks.

Based on those talking points, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice would go on five Sunday talk shows shortly after the attacks to claim they were triggered by protests over an anti-Islam film. Top officials would later claim the flawed assessment was based on the best intelligence

Boehner should be calling for the impeachment of this President and prison for Hillary. We all should!

“According to top aide, Boehner won’t take “no” for an answer.
“It’s a warning that we want the emails, and we will pursue them,” the aide said.”

Or, what? He will cry?

Typical Republican response to not remove the wrong the Dems do, but that
they can do Obamacare better. It's going to be a long battle.

If the truth is known regarding Benghazi and a whole host of other wrongdoings .. Boehner knows facts. Boehner is third in line for the Highest Office of this Land. Thinking Boehner does not know the truth is not comprehensible to think. Boehner should be watched closely. National Security has been put at HUGE risk by obama and his crowd. Boehner knows. The problem is ... what can be done to minimize the damage to our Nation. Of this ... I have no doubt. Let the democrats and the media stew for a little while ... then drop the truth, over and over and over. No drips ... This time a flood (maybe) but this has to be done carefully. obama, his crowd, and the democrats along with the lame-stream drive bys have done great damage to National Security. Whatever is done has to be done very carefully. Think of all the ammo purchases. Think and remember what obama said about creating a force as formidable as our Military, outside of our Military. Tread carefully FRiends.

He should have come out guns blazing today and taken control of the narrative while the getting was good...but alas...he landed with a big thud.

Man I hope this is the start of impeachment.

Obama will never be impeached. Not for this, or anything else. The man could eat a human baby on live TV, and the media and just over half the country would be more interested in what the Kardashian's were up to that day.

Yesterday's Benghazi testimony was basically wiped out by the coverage of the Jodi Arias verdict and human interest stories about the Cleveland girls. I'm sorry, but this Benghazi stuff is not likely to go anywhere.

“It’s a warning that we want the emails, and we will pursue them,” the aide said.”

Doesn't pursuit with legal force require a special prosecutor with subpoena power to compel testimony and release of potential evidence?

This is the beginning of some very embarrassing stuff for his excellency to side step with executive privilege, again. No sense going for impeachment as he would never be convicted in the dummo dominated senate but the gop can make a lot of hay from his holding back the e mails.

With Coburn calling dingy harry distrustful at the same time, we have a good attack from a group that usually cannot get its acts together.

He basically did that when he said, 'God Bless You' to Planned Parenthood.

Boehner will make a few statements and demands then he'll retreat for another smoke break and a scotch.

Sorry to be so sarcastic but this guy is about as daring and effective as Pee Wee Herman. ( with NO disrespect for Pee Wee intended )

He can and will do that until the House (Boehner) gets serious about exposing the dereliction of duty of The Dear Leader.

What does it take to appoint a special independent federal investigator/prosecutor? I’ve wondered that for a long time. Who has to authorize that?

Yes....I think it does. Perhaps we should all call his office and ask that he appoint a special prosecutor.
