Rubio condemns Bachmann

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio and Scott Brown joined John McCain in denouncing the congresswoman's Muslim witch hunt

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising star in the party and a potential vice-presidential pick for Mitt Romney, said this morning that he disagreed with Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann’s baseless call to investigate Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government.

Appearing on NPR’s Diane Rehm show, Rubio was asked by a caller if he would join Republican Sen. John McCain’s strong condemnation of the anti-Muslim witch hunt on the Senate floor yesterday. While Rubio said he doesn’t personally know Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton whom Bachmann accused of being connected to the Brotherhood, the Florida Republican said, “Wveryone I talk to who has dealt with her, [says she is] a professional and hardworking and patriotic American who loves her country and in the service of her country is serving it.”

“I am not a signatory to that letter,” Rubio said of Bachmann’s letters to the inspectors general of several national security agencies demanding investigations. “I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter. Obviously, every member of Congress has a right to express their opinion and every member of Congress is held accountable for their opinion, if they’re right or if they’re wrong.”

“I can tell you that I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter,” he continued, “And in fact, I’m very very careful and cautious about ever making accusations like that about anyone.”

Rubio’s comments are decidedly more circumspect than McCain’s, but it is still unusual for someone in his position to speak out publicly against someone in his own party. Bachmann has also earned scorn from her former presidential campaign manager, Ed Rollins, who said Bachmann’s witch hunt is “extreme and dishonest.” “Shame on you, Michele!” Rollins wrote.

UPDATE: Sen. Scott Brown, the Republican from Massachusetts facing off against Democrat Elizabeth Warren in November, took to Twitter to strongly condemn Bachmann by name:

Rep. Bachmann’s accusations about Sec. Clinton aide Huma Abedin are out-of-line. This kind of rhetoric has no place in our public discourse

“When Bachmann was in a furball fight in 2012 against a wealthy, well-back Democrat (hand-picked by Pelosi), the RNC didn’t lift a finger to help.”

Sounds like pretty much the same thing with Allen West.

Allen West is one of the few who refused to sign Grover Norquist’s ‘pledge’...and you see what happened.

[snip]http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76470.html

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) scoffed at the idea the pledge was some sort of blood oath. A number of other offices of freshman members told POLITICO their bosses had sworn oaths to do what was best for their districts, not Americans for Tax Reform.

“I signed that thing in the desert of Afghanistan,” West said in an interview. “I got home and they wanted me to sign again during my campaign, and I wouldn’t, and Grover started yelling at my campaign manager. Grover is a nice guy, but I think he’s a little misguided.”(AUNTB: YOU’re wrong there, Col. West, wise up!)

“I don’t care if he has my name on his website, it’s meaningless,” West added. “I think my voting record speaks for itself.”
The tax pledge has long been a litmus test for any conservative who wants to be taken seriously in a Republican primary.

Grover is a good friend of all things radical Muslim:

Indeed he did try.

What the democrats never like to admit, is that JFK respected McCarthy and was a mentor to JFK. JFK would be considered a right wing radical now....someone must have dropped Teddy on his head when he was little.

Forget Rubio. He chose the wrong friends to have a future. People like McCain and Graham are the reason people dislike Republicans. Rubio chose that side.

I'm glad this skunk revealed his stench. Brown the Clown is another hack I regret supporting.

once again it appears that Obama’s plan is to get people like Rubio to destroy themselves and his party so that his democrats can fill the vacume.

Perhaps someone should ask Rubio why he wants to destroy the republican party and alienate himself from the base.

Does Rubio really think we can assimilate this population here not only in disregard of our laws but practicing rampant disregard of our culture & traditions.

La Rasia is an organization funded my Mexico with the express propose of leading a racist movement against our country.

They have no intention of assimilating only agitating for racial hate to drive men toward blindly backing their organizations long term goals.

People know a person by the company he keeps. Scott Brown and John McCain are bad company.

You know that Mario Rubio has jumped the shark when he starts talking like one of the *voices of reason*, in other words the treasonous sell outs.

Think of those paper doll cutouts—the ones where each identical doll is holding hands with the next one. The first doll is Noquist, he is holding hands with McCain, who is holding hands with Linsey Graham, who is holding hands with Marco Rubio etc., etc. They are are all holding hands and playing ring around the rosie.

The left only love people when they have *evolved*.

By the way, when they say people who have changed their minds to agree with them have *evolved* are they trying to imply that conservatives are cave men or Neanderthals. Hmmm.

His parents would remember the year that they left Cuba. People don't forget things like that especially since things changed so drastically when Castro came into power. They would definitely know whether Batista or Castro was in power.

Rubio may have condemned radical islamists in a general sort of way but what is he willing to do about it especially if it means inflitration in the halls of Washington?

Norquist seems to be quite the man about town. Bet he gets invited to the very best parties, especially at the Saudi’s palaces.

If the anmesty is passed and tens of millions of illegals are allowed to stay it will be the end of everything conservative, so it doesn’t matter what Rubio says about taxation, abortion, gun control or any other conservative issue, if amnesty is passed it is the end for a republic and a free nation. I don’t know if Rubio realizes this or not but it doesn’t matter. What matters is that amnesty will destroy our nation as we know it. It will no longer be the United States of America, even if they keep the trappings of America. The American flag, the Capitol building, the White House and people entitled representatives, senators or presidents will be the only things left but they will be hollow.

“In my estimation, Grover Norquist is one of the country’s most dangerous agents....for many, many years deftly, nimbly, adroitly moving through, in, and around institutions, organizations and in the halls and offices of DC government.
We have to start Alinsky-ing this too-influential shadowy creep.”

Remember also, everyone, Grover is married to a Muslim woman and defends Muslim interests all the time. And the amnesty he promotes will allow ever more Muzzies to infiltrate our country through our porous southern borders. It isn’t just Mexicans and other hispanics illegally pouring into our country.
