The controversial moment SWAT teams ordered innocent neighbors out of their houses at GUNPOINT ...

A startling home-made video now shows the terrifying moments where Watertown residents were forced out of their homes at gunpoint as SWAT teams performed door-to-door searches as they hunted the second marathon bomber.

While millions of Bostonians waited in their houses on Friday during the city-wide lockdown, the people of Watertown were faced with SWAT officers yelling at them to get out of the buildings immediately.

At the time, the Boston police department and federal agents were barely criticized, but now many are concerned about the dangerous precedent that could lead to more police searches using the rationale of ‘exigent circumstances’ as an excuse.

The video, shot by an unidentified Watertown resident, shows a team of SWAT officers wielding semi-automatic guns bang on his neighbor’s front door and scream for them to get out of the house’.

The residents are whisked away- hands in the air, one by one- to a nearby group of officers as the SWAT team searches the house for the second shooter, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Early reports, made by journalists who were kept out of Watertown by a police barricade, said that the searches were voluntary.

Now, the video published on right-wing conservative news blog InfoWars, asserts that the searches were involuntary, as all residents were forced out of their homes whether they liked it or not.

The six-minute video shows just one search of the suburban town’s homes during the day-long lockdown. While the outside world looked to the media gathered on the perimeter of Watertown, those trapped inside the search area looked outside to scary sights.

I considered those statements and others like them as coming from the WH.

We had almost the exact same statement coming from all these leftist prior to this attack as we had prior to the attempted car bombing in NYC.

Since the 1ST WTC bombing in 1993, prior to each and every terrorist attack the left has always ginned up or attempted to gin up civil unrest with one or more groups, Whites Blacks or Hispanic.

The left always tries to make it appear as if one or more militant group has a motive for the attack.

Let me know when you find one. So far, every person I've talked to in Mass about this supports law enforcement, and they think what is being said about them is grossly offensive.

So?

For being "Mr. Constitution," you sure are turning into a jackbootlick.

I’m from MA, live less than a mile from where they arrested #2’s friends. I don’t support what Law Enforcement did. They just raped our Constitutional rights. I would’ve made the news because I would’ve refused their search. Peaceably, I wouldn’t have answered the door. I am not proud to be an American after that display of militarized police. 9,000 cops and a guy smoking a cigarette finds #2. If it wasn’t for the guy who got car jacked leaving his cell phone on in the car the two bombers would’ve completely escaped. What’s more disgusting 200 rounds fired and #2 runs away and hides. Isn’t there one cop competent with a firearm? I say that from experience, I’ve seen the average cop shoot at the range. This is a scary precedent set. This will happen again in a town near you. The terrorists are winning. Not only are they creating fear but now our government is. Fear your Government. Love your Country. So sad.

You're obviously not really from Massachusetts, because our resident bootlick has already assured us that everyone from Massachusetts is fine and dandy with what the police did in Watertown.

FWIW, I agree with you. Frankly, the police response was as bad, if not worse, than the terrorism itself. The terrorism happens, and then is over. This police response sets a precedent that whenever the police think a situation "requires" is, they can carte blanche ignore the Constitution. That's a dangerous precedent to set, one which is ultimately more destructive to the nation than any number of terrorist attacks.

Frankly, any LEO who willingly participates in behaviour like this is an accessory to the terrorists.

Given that on an almost nightly basis, violent felons (murderers, armed carjackers, AWIK [Assault with Intent to Kill], etc.) run from the police in DC and get away into a neighborhood, do you support the DC police doing each night what Boston did in this particular event?

But- but- but that would be raaacissst! < /sarc >

That's crazy talk. Here's a screen grab from footage of my last car chase:

I assure you these thugs didn't get away.

I tend to take your view. Exigent circumstances yes, bad reaction and execution by the police in several cases, definitely.

Bottom line is the unintended consequences. The totalitarians will use this to further their agendas, for sure.

If the perp had broken into my house to hide I would be holding the door open for the cops to come in and carry his dead body out. I can say that because I live in the Republic of Texas where we are allowed to defend ourselves and our property with semi auto guns with large magazines.
