Report: Mark Sanford's ex-wife accuses him of trespassing

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's (R) ex-wife is accusing him of trespassing at her home and the two are due in court two days after his congressional election, according to a report from the Associated Press.

According to court documents obtained by the AP, Jenny Sanford, the state's former first lady, caught him leaving her home in early February while using his cell phone as a flashlight and filed a complaint the next day. The couple divorced after he publicly admitted to an extramarital affair in 2009 and, according to their divorce settlement, aren't allowed to enter each other's homes without permission.

I am no Mark Sanford fan, but the wife is either really holding a grudge to get law enforcement involved when the father of her children is on her property (knowing full well the media would pick it up) OR Sanford is completely loony and she is showing remarkable restraint (likely for the benefit of her sons) in not outing him completely to the media.

Seems pretty clear to me - they have a legal agreement preventing him from entering her house without permission, which he apparently broke.

My first impression was, “Why would he want to trespass?” The only reason I could think of would be to see the kids. But cheating on your wife has consequences and once of them is limited time with your kids. How sad. Wonder if he’s sorry yet? In the meantime, why would the voters elect him? Crazy!!!

With a gop like this, the libs prediction of a twenty year period of ruling does not seem so far fetched.
I know this thread is specifically about Sanford but he is a perfect representation of what is wrong with this party. The Republicans are a bunch of losers who have no idea how to win elections anymore and every day, they too push me further away.

I’m a fan of Mark Sanford, because his voting record is impeccable. I don’t give a damn whether or not he got along with his wife or not. I’m not marrying the dude.

This district voted for Romney by 20 points. Sanford will win by a similar or greater margin since this is a special election.
