Why the United States is a Dying Country (Rush Limbaugh is now a pessimist. Here's why he's right)
American Thinker ^ | 04/10/2013 | Steve McCann

Posted on 04/10/2013 6:52:39 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Recently Rush Limbaugh opined that the United States is a dying country. For many years that reality has been painfully obvious to those of us who immigrated to the United States having experienced first-hand the suffering inherent in the near total destruction of a nation which inevitably occurs as the end-product of immorality, despotism and radical ideology.

This nation is repeating the disastrous evolutionary process that has plagued so many failed nations throughout mankind's history. This process begins with a society willing to reject the fundamental concept that is necessary for any nation to thrive and prosper: respect for the uniqueness of each individual and self-determination.

On January 22, 1973 the Supreme Court validated abortion on demand (up to the point of so-called viability) regardless of circumstances. Many of my acquaintances celebrated this decision as a monumental advancement in women's and societal rights. I, on the other hand, was overcome with a sense of foreboding. I was appalled and openly stated that this nation had embarked on the road of demeaning and devaluing life which would lead to a society devoid of morality and integrity with the ultimate ascension into power those who would destroy this nation as founded.

My warnings fell on deaf ears as I was ridiculed and accused of being an anachronism as these things could never happen in the United States.

As there were few that shared my premonition, I could only watch over the past 40 years as the American people have sanctioned, through legal abortions, the death of over 54.5 million children. Once this disregard of human life took hold, the citizens of this nation were susceptible to wholesale changes within society.

They will collapse by their own doing. Yes, it will be hard to endure. Regardless, we will put it right. There is no way to give up, and nothing to give up. Time is on our side.

Good speech, as usual! So you have a problem with NEWT speaking about REAGAN and conservative values for America and against obama?

Newt who?

There is only one Newt - so I see, romneybot/obamabot, your stupidity is still your claim to fame. Make that severely stupid!

Then, Rush, WHY DIDN'T YOU throw your full support behind NEWT once he entered the race? He was the only one qualified to be president. You are blowing hot air, now. You fell like the rest of them, you are no different - so stop your whining and praising yourself My warnings fell on deaf ears , it is nauseating!

Rush used to be so great. I used to love listening to him. Now he behaves like a liberal -- he's negative, he's depressed, he's a pessimist, he thinks Americans are idiots, and he actually wanted me to vote for a pro Roe v Wade, pro nationalized health care, pro global warming, pro gay agenda Romney for president. His flawed reasoning was that it was voting "against" Obama, which is pretend. You don't get to vote "against," you only get to vote "for."

I used to think the reason Rush declined to endorse anyone in the primaries was because he didn't want to presume to tell me who to vote for, ONLY to tell me what principles should guide my voting, and I admired him for it. But I think now that actually, he was just too afraid, lacked the courage to overcome his fear.

Rush pretty much betrayed America when he went after Newt as being "anti-capitalist" when Newt rightly criticized Romney's business ethics. In doing that, Rush aided and abetted Romney to a large degree. Rush was either very stupid, or very wrong.

Which means Rush is as gone as the GOP.

Rush thinks most Americans are stupid morons. Screw him. Screw anybody who thinks that. The truth is that there really are more of us than there are of the liberal "them." "They" have to cheat to win because if they didn't, they'd lose. Why? Because we outnumber them.

Rush is too frightened to catch that fast ball.

Spot on in so many ways! Rush is simply an entertainer watching out for his own butt. What a weak POS that is, IMO, when he has his golden mike and could have used it - THIS TIME - for AMERICA instead of himself.

Well, yes. America is a pathetic shadow of its former greatness, and in total and exponentially increasing decay. Takers now overwhelming makers. Two political Parties that have merged into one singular, statist ruling-class. A ghastly, putrid culture in which everything including definitions of decency, morality and virtue have been inverted. Mind-boggling insanity like kids being suspended from school for nibbling pop-tarts in the shape of a gun. Abject degeneracy like homo marriage.

America has become an intensely sick, grotesque farce.

When that band of wise and brave men and women in 1776 affirmed their Declaration of Independence from the rule of mere men, asserted their reliance on the "hand of Divine Providence" to guide the affairs over which they presided, acknowledging Creator-endowed life, liberty and law, a new era of liberty burst upon the scene.

Perhaps our appeal and faith should express that same focus and confidence!

For decades, the foundations of liberty have been eroded and replaced with the same old substitutes from which our forefathers escaped in the 17th and 18th Centuries.

"Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court even can do much to help it." - Judge Learned Hand

"If I have learned anything from the reading of history, it is that the man who, in violation of great principles, toils for temporary fame, purchases for himself either total oblivion or eternal infamy, while he who temporarily goes down battling for right principles always deserves, and generally secures, the gratitude of succeeding ages, and will carry with him the sustaining solace of a clean conscience, more precious than all the offices and honors in the gift of man." - Sen. Zacharias Montgomery

After Thomas Jefferson, in his First Inaugural, had enumerated the principles which would guide his Administration in his First Inaugural, he added:

"These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and the blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety."

So-called "progressives" of the 20th and 21st Centuries, in their arrogance, have removed (censored) the Founders' ideas of liberty from America's textbooks, but technology has outstripped their efforts. Every American school child and adult now has potential access to almost every word the Founders' spoke and wrote, and their ideas are being rediscovered and circulated in a manner unheard of even 10 years ago, as if by the hand of Divine Providence. How else can one account for the events of 2010?

Enduring principles, according to the Founders were just that--enduring and "self-evident."

The sacred Rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written as with a sunbeam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself, and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power>" - Alexander Hamilton

"Kings or parliaments could not give the rights essential to happiness, as you confess those invaded by the Stamp Act to be. We claim them from a higher source - from the King of kings, and Lord of all the earth. They are not annexed to us by parchments and seals. They are created in us by the decrees of Providence, which establish the laws of our nature. They are born with us, exist with us, and cannot be taken from us by any human power, without taking our lives. In short, they are founded on the immutable maxims of reason and justice." - John Dickinson (Signer of the Constitution of the U. S., as quoted in "Our Ageless Constitution, p. 286)

So, let’s make em really angry and NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!

Ah, shades of Winston Churchill! “Never, never, never, never give up.” I love it.

Keep your powder dry patriots. The war is about to begin I truly believe.

Do you mean CNS depressants? Is alcohol a narcotic and a reason the United States is a dying country?

There's a lot of confusion between pessimist and realist. The cynic mistakes pessimism for realism.

The pessimist sees the world through dung-colored glasses. The realist sees it through a clearer lens.

Nothing is on our side, all the trends are against us and few if any reqimes collapse on their own. North Korea is a good example. Complete basketcase, starving and oppressed people. Been that way since the 40’s. Nothing but a revolution will change that. I’ve been fighting these dirty stinking leftys for over 40 years and will continue to do so. I take this fight personally and can’t ever see myself quitting. Sorry for being a downer but they seem to have the upper hand and I dont see how thats going to change.

The country is in decline, and it started before 0bama.

1. Nothing is right or wrong. The moral and ethical decline is almost complete.

2. Collective guilt over something done by people who are now dead, and who had a similar skin shade.

3. Lack of national identity. Few people identify themselves as American first, and then maybe something else second.

4. Work ethic thrown out the window. Work, productivity, creativity, honesty are worth nothing.

5. Indolence rewarded. Society needs to take care of the disabled, ill and elderly, but not able-bodied individuals.

6. Attempting to right all “wrongs.” Agitation over unequal outcomes caused by unequal abilities.

7. Political correctness causing individuals to lose their jobs and reputation over words spoken.

8. Creation of a permanent ruling upper elite class that assumes privileges for itself and scorns the ordinary person.

9. Creation of a permanent underclass that is dependent on government and which in gratitude votes for more government gifts.

10. A media that is completely biased in favor of all of the above.

11. A badly-informed electorate, due to its own laziness and stupidity, which has extremely shallow knowledge of current and world events.

12. An education system under government control that is completely biased in favor of all of the above.

God does indeed bless us, in so many ways, each and every day! And, so many good patriots have gone before us and given their all, life or limb, that for me to give up on this country is to deny their sacrifice, to belittle their efforts. They were not fools, nor am I, nor are we! This country has a special purpose in this world, and it is God-given! No other country serves as beacon of hope, democracy, and life to those who have been tortured, abandoned, impoverished, held back/down/away...our nation’s foundation on God is not to be denied/hidden/altered. God is in control, and we must remain steadfast.

Hang in there-you are not alone! :)

one of my favorite international figures: Winston Churchill. Definitely placed on this earth according to God’s providence—the right man, in the right place, at the right time.

Newt is an internationalist,

He advocates all to read and learn from the book “The Third Wave”, if I have not gotten the title wrong.

One world government is the UN plan and advancing and we sit like birds on a fence.

God help America, Father let not evil prevail, forgive us our negligent ways, we thank Thee for thy blessings, life, health, seeing, walking talking, breathing, For America, turn us back to Thee, and knowing Thee, help us do as Thou tell us to do, in Jesus name, amen.
