SEOUL — The North Korean army said Thursday it had final approval to launch "merciless" military strikes on the United States, involving the possible use of "cutting-edge" nuclear weapons.

In a statement published by the official KCNA news agency, the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) said it was formally informing Washington that reckless US threats would be "smashed by... cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means".

"The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified," the statement said.

NBC news just reported that the Pentagon admits that North Korea can place a nuclear warhead on a missile and strike as far as Japan and Guam! First I have heard of this!

North Korea has the ability to send satellites into orbit (the upper atmosphere) and have done it successfully. Therefore, they can detonate a low yield nuclear bomb in the upper atmosphere and create a NEMP (nuclear electromagnetic pulse) any time they want. You will read the proof of what I say in the link below.

When they use the words, ““Cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means”, that very well defines an NEMP. I have alerted my readers on another website to be prepared for this event to happen and to hope it doesn't.

North Korea can stop us in our tracks today. Here is the link:

I posted a link to this article you posted as I didn't see you posted it. You and I are on the same mental wave length. North Korea can shut us down any day they want.

I write on another website and have suggested to them this could happen any day so to shore up their preps right now.

I will be surprised if they DON'T do it as I expect it to happen. I'm not going to be surprised as we were on 9-11, or the country was when Pearl Harbor happened.

Really? You are actually sitting there fearful of a country that cant even keep the lights on hitting any part of the U.S. with a nuke?

The situation is a farce. The fact that people here are playing like it’s serious is pretty pathetic.

“My son, along with a lot of other Marines is based at Camp Pendelton, not to mention the extensive Navy, Army, and Air Force assets, both human and materiel) on the West Coast.

A native New Yorker who was in Manhattan on 9/11, I am certain that the families and friends of all the innocent people within potential range of that madman’s missles are not at all amused by your comment.

Any person that thinks N. Korea can hit anything in the U.S. is an idiot. I’m not even going to sugarcoat that.

Hook one of those things on drone, launch from a fishing trawler, and you could knock down half the buildings in downtown Seattle, which happens to be my home.
When crazy people start threatening to kill you, I suggest paying attention.

You're absolutely right, and present a workable scenario. They don't need ICBM missiles. Most shipping containers are not checked, only a tiny fraction are inspected. They could ship a nuke, and agents here would arm it. They could slip over the border from Mexico, and have a bomb ready to go in a warehouse in our cities. 12 million illegals easily got here, you think professional spies can't? If NK blows a nuke here, we won't easily be able to pin it on them until they take credit for it. I also say take them seriously.

Kim has backed himself into a corner. He’ll have to come up with a way to save face. That may end badly.

Yup. He’s ratcheted things up so high now that he almost has to do something to save face with the generals.

This might be a very dangerous false assumption.

This prof says North Korea’s December 2012 ICBM satellite launch was more advanced than the media and US gov’t sources are saying. Watch his video starting around the 15:00 minutes mark.

Yup. Doesn’t even have to be accurate enough to hit a large city. Just accurate enough to put it over the N. American continent. The EMP would knock us back to the 1700’s and we would be finished. The death toll would be absolutely enormous.

“You are actually sitting there fearful of a country that cant even keep the lights on”

They can keep the lights on. The also put a satellite in orbit and successfully detonated a nuclear weapon. I don’t get why people think this is funny. Millions of people could die.

If I am not mistaken, the freerepublic servers are located on the Left Coast, and doesnt Jim Robinson live in Fresno California ?.

peple think this NK stuff is something to joke about,

but just what if NK was a mercenary force of China and what if the strategy was to destroy the US economy through a nuke strike, so that China could replace the USA as primary holder of the world bank.

the US is already bankrupt and low hanging fruit , wouldnt be surprised if Obama was in on the plot

“Any person that thinks N. Korea can hit anything in the U.S. is an idiot.”

If they were able to miniaturize the nuclear weapons, they may already be here.
