fortunately due to past Americans in the white-house we have missile defense systems that will likely take out most of what North Korea can throw at us.
Had democrats like Obama had their way we would have no such options.
The real problem is south Korea who is going to be The target of the north if Kim decides to go down fighting. South Korea’s capital will be littered with chemical and otherwise shells.
I think many here underestimate the ROK Army. I was on the DMZ (albeit 30 years ago) and I had no fear of the DPRK People’s Army at the time. I can’t imagine that the DMZ is weaker now than it was then.

The EMP might already be in orbit. If the NK satellite is an EMP, we couldn’t stop it.
The only thing that gives me pause about how effective an EMP would be is the Cold War. We and the Soviets had thousands upon thousands of nukes. Why so many if just one could destroy us and knock us back into the 1700’s, resulting in the deaths of two thirds of the population through starvation, exposure to the elements, lack of medical care, medicines, etc. And do it without covering the planet with clouds of radiation.
Concur completely. I think that’s why the Chinese are pushing the Norks. If he’s not willing to nuke somebody he knows he can take with nukes, why would he respond to a massive attack.
It’s why I believe we will be nuked on Wed as Eun promised. If we retaliate with nukes, we should be OK. If we don’t, then why wouldn’t Russia follow up with a strike that takes out both coasts but leaves the midwest intact?
The Norks will take out one or two cities I think, or they will try. This is also a ‘no bullshit, does your missile shield work’ test for the Soviets (Yep, they are still evil, even if they aren’t commies).
How many of our nukes were developed BEFORE electronics were so critical to national survival?
