Assault weapons ban: The NRA wins again (barf alert)

So what happened to the assault weapons ban, which was dropped Tuesday from the Senate gun control package? Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News thinks he knows.

“We know how much money the NRA pours into lobbying for guns like this to be completely available in America,” he says in today’s edition, which bears on its cover the pictures of the 20 school kids slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., by Adam Lanza on Dec. 14. “We know that it has turned so many politicians, too many politicians, into cowards in the face of the money and imagined power of the NRA.”

As Lupica writes: "If Sandy Hook Elementary doesn’t make every member of Congress take a stand against assault weapons in this country, then what does? How many small coffins do we need the next time?"

It isn't money that drives most politicians, it's the prospect of getting reelected.

Have no fear. The difi bill will rear it’s ugly head again in some form or another. For now, anyway, the people have won a reprieve from the radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbags that want to lead us down the primrose path. How many small coffins does it take? How many open pits with bodies of unarmed citizens being bulldozed in to it does it take to understand an unarmed people are a subjugated people. Then again, they understand that completely. According to some of the RLWEDS “all” the polls show that people want more restrictions. Except maybe the folks who already owned firearms before king hussein “took” office and the 60+ million that have gotten themselves one or more since then.

The question to the federal and state gun controllers is how many patriots are you willing to kill and how many of you are willing to die in order to impose your misguided laws?

Mike Lupica should stick to writing about the WNBA.

At least the NY Times keeps the sportswriters on the sports page, and leaves the editorial writing to their theater critic.

Seriously,

has there ever been an historic context where registration did not lead to confiscation?

I know that “it’s always happened before” is not ever convincing to a leftist, but, it’s still a good point.

The R party could take some lessons from the NRA in how to fight and win when under political assault from the left. The NRA did not cower. Its leadership and membership stood firm and put forth easy-to-understand, practical ideas for how to protect children from future threats. The NRA denounced the attacks from the left and turned the anguish of maligned gun owners into a unified political block. The leftists who wanted to associate child murderers with the NRA and its members are vile and reprehensible—the NRA are showing what must be done, at a minimum, to work against the leftists.

Who has been more successful at defending freedom? The R party or the NRA? Neither has been wholly successful but the assault on freedom has been relentless and withering.

What is it about sportswriters? Is this how they appear relevant & socially engaged, by writing columns denouncing the right to bear arms?

More relevant than a column about how high some knucklehead kicks a football.

Only “YET.” The UK and Australia, for example.

But there can be a long delay between registration and extermination. Hitler did not set up German gun registration, it was mainly in 1928 under the Weimar govt.

So the fact that there are current cases of registration without extermination means nothing. It's “yet.”

Interesting factoid, and keep your eyes and ears pricked for this phrase. During the Great Terror of the French Revolution, the group that sent tens of thousands to the guillotine and other forms of summary execution (mass drownings on locked barges, etc) was called

The Committee of Public Safety.

Hitler, Stalin, the Turks, they all disarmed their people using those same two little words. Public Safety.

“..which bears on its cover the pictures of the 20 school kids slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary....”

Why don’t they put up a cover of those killed by illegal aliens that were armed or other criminals that killed people - when their right to bear arms was infringed on - and had to go out unprotected and became a victim! Or when rapist broke into homes that had no weapons because of some stupid liberal logic that makes owning a weapon vile - where some kid was raped and killed - why is it that the MSM pick and choose their little propaganda campaigns? The news today makes me sick - I don’t even watch 90% of time unless I absolutely have to....

I didn’t go to extermination.

I went to confiscation.

I think even the UK and Australia went pretty directly from registration to confiscation.

What I’m getting at is the left’s lie that they don’t want to confiscate firearms and disarm the people.

So basically the NRA did what the Democrats are trying to do on every issue through Obama’s “Organizing for America” group and the liberals are outraged because the NRA managed to out maneuver them...

Good point, thanks for the clarification. Nope, I'm stumped, they always confiscate after registration. In big or small steps, but they always do. Every case I'm aware of.

As Lupica writes: "If Sandy Hook Elementary doesn’t make every member of Congress take a stand against assault weapons in this country, then what does? How many small coffins do we need the next time?"

Lupica talks as if he has a plan. Encourage the next massacre through wall-to-wall coverage of the last narcissistic murderer, and hopefully, there will be enough small coffins next time to get the job of disarming the population done.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

We all know the left lies about their intentions. They have to in order to get those intentions fullfilled because people will stop them.

Who I’m aiming for is there sheeperal supporters who attribute benign intentions to their “high priests” in government.

They’ll argue till the sun goes down that ‘rats don’t intend to confiscate guns.

That’s why I helped to create the “Democide” video, and all of these photomemes. It’s to try to get those lesson memes out past our choir.

Most Americans don’t even read today, so essays and articles don’t move the needle. If most Americans today are “visual learners” (assuming they can still learn), then we need to make visual lessons.

The photomemes are a total waste if Freepers and Facebookers don’t copy and repost them and shove them under the noses of their friends and family.
