Undercover cops fatally shot a teenager in Brooklyn last night after he pointed a loaded gun at an officer, police sources and witnesses said.
Kimani Gray, 16, was shot in the leg and stomach when he whipped out a .38-caliber revolver after adjusting the waistband on his pants, said cops.
The two undercover officers, driving a red umarked car, had approached the group of teens because they were acting suspiciously on East 52nd Street near Snyder Street in East Flatbush just before 11:30 p.m.

If I am not mistaken, R Lee Ermey said that.
He would own a $10,000 one of a kind Citori and shoot Skeetles ... all payed for by non-sequestered taxpayer dollars.
How much fire power did the cops lay on? The cops only hit Kimani twice, once fatal?

First 2 in this comparison pic are the 357 Magnum and the 38 Special. Roughly 1/8” longer case on the 357 but much larger powder charge is normally loaded.
Here is a very good article comparing many hand gun cartridges. The number that will accept the same diameter bullet is amazing.

Most of those who shoot do not know how many bullets can be substituted in a pinch. I have a 170 grain bullet mold that I bought to cast bullets for my Winchester 94 30/30, but the same bullet can be loaded in both 308 and 30-06 cartridges. It works fine.
In the even it is hard to get factory bullets, cast pistol and rifle bullets are a good substitute. Expecially on the pistols, because of the slower muzzle velocity.
He would have gotten shot if it was a realistic looking toy.
“Also, was it a 38 or 357?”
Maybe a.357 loaded with 38’s
He was such a good boy ...
No, he was a stupid boy who died because he was a moron with a gun. Think of his passing as culling the gene pool of the unfit for civil society.
I have fired Astra semi aura pistols. Not bad. Heard of Rohm. Never saw one. I can’t get a clear picture on my smart phone.
I love revolvers and semi auto pistols. I am old school though and prefer my smiths, colts, Rugers and 1911s. I have heard good and bad things about Glocks. But if I was going to buy European it would be sig, beretta or Walther and metal. (Though for pocket carry on a hot day I might consider a Ruger LCP or LC 9. My son has an LCP and at feel your hot breath distances it never fails to function)
I wonder if black powder can be substiuted as a propellent in case ammo "in an emergency"?
At least this time it didn’t take 41 shots.
Or anyone else who carries a gun and is serious about self defense.
The Post ran this? The title sounds very AP/liberal with the new use of the word gunman, which for most people indicates a politically motivated shooting, or some nutcase going on a spree. Notice how he’s got a prior of inciting a riot, which you can get for brandishing a gun on the street in a threatening manner.
I thought that was an RG from the pic in the article, you nailed it. Junk German POS saturday night special, barely better than nothing.... Barely. ;)
Hey everyone, my original post was to poke at the idiot writer of the article. I guess he hit the, “I have already previewed or do not wish to preview this composition.” button before proof reading. Or like most journalist, he is ignorant about guns.
And for the dolt that thinks that his .02cents is worth more than mine, bugger you.
A .38 is different from a .357. Yes you can use 38 caliber bullets in a .357 but NOT the other way around. Talk about eating your own!
I fire my 200 grain cowboy action, lead round nose .454” bullets made for .45 Colt in my .45 ACP 1911 Remington rand. Very accurate. I do not like black powder cleanup And would not use BP or lead bullets in gas operates semi autos. I have a couple of 5 gallon buckets of lead, so that should last me. I won’t say how much. But I do have powder primers and jacketed bullets. At my age it should last me. I worry about my boys running out.
Why those racist JBTs!
Pity.

Well, I can do dumber than that. One of my hobbies is shooting groundhogs, and one of my rifles is a Remington Model 700 chambered in .300 Win Mag with a muzzle brake—which reduces recoil but increases muzzle blast. Made the one-time mistake of touching a round off using the hood of my truck as a rest. The sound waves of course bounced off the windshield glass and about blew my left eardrum.
I guess that would depend on the size of the case. Black powder cartridges were effectively full when that cartridge was loaded.
So far my local gun shop has been able to supply my powder needs OK. I just bought 2 lbs. of 3031 and a lb. of Unique last week.
Brass has been a little tougher to get. Have been supplementing my on hand inventory since early January. Except for a few shotshell items I am in pretty good shape now. Will probably add a few more calibers to my reloading die collection. I don’t shoot exotics, but feel compelled to prepare a bit more than normal.
Until recently all I ever loaded was for my 221 fireball and for shotshells. Have loaded those for many years, since back in the 60’s and 70’s.
I decided in January to upgrade my reloading press and added most for what we already are shooting.
Until the ammo shortage, reloading did not make that much sense. I did not shoot enough rounds for it to be worth the setup and time cost.
Now, it is about having ammo, not cost.
Yup, it's hard to concieve the cops only fired a few rounds.
I beleive it’s a Colt Trooper MK-III .357 Magnum
Interchangable in only one direction. 357 doesn`t go in 38.
Not true. A .357 cartridge will slide right into a pistol marked .38 or .38 special and it will fire. The problem isn’t that the .357 cartridge won’t “go in” a .38 the problem is that a gun made for .38s or .38 specials is not made to handle the pressure. It might blow apart in your hand.
POTUS would be my guess, given the idiot voters we have now.
Who knows when that pictures was taken. The msm likes playing with pictures. They showed younger pictures of St. Skittles and Lanza. They showed Zimmerman at a heavier weight and gave the usurper a buff body and different colored clothes. They lighten and darkened OJ's, the usurper's and Zimmerman's skin color depending on the slant of the story. It's all a game with them.
Wonder where he stole the gun from?
If obozo had a son......
So this kid and Trayvon used to hang together.
an expiring rapper...his shelf life was up. According to reincarnation he’ll come back as a cockroach or a bedbug
No, she’s waiting for Je$$e Jack$$son to say all those things. That’s his job.
He may have but the perp apparently did not.
:)
He’d probably saw it off. Judging from that picture of him where he isn’t leaning into the gun whatsoever, I’d surmise he isn’t the most skilled shot in the world. I was thinking more along the lines of a Perazzi with gold hula girl inlays that shoots rose petals.
ROTFLOL Maybe a choom field background with a smoking doobie on one side.
My father wouldn't have let me pull the trigger on a shotgun until I learned to shoulder it properly. It's a long reach back for my memory but I think I already knew that from handling BB guns and .22s for a few years before I was introduced to the wonderful world of shotgunning. 0bama's such a douche!
Contra the criminal technique; when presented a situation, watch the hands. All sorts of yelling and commotion when the cops show up, but I’m deaf. So there’s five sets of hands to scrutinize. Hand-hand-hand-hand-hand/firearm: GO. Sort it out later in a more civilized environment. No excuse to draw on the cops, or any citizen on the street. None at all. Do it and you’re dust. Lethal force is always bad PR as far as cops vs. bystanders go, but the wages of sin, or overconfidence in yourself just because you’re packing is....
Please note interchangeable cylinders of .357 Mag (9mm) and

Ruger also makes a Convertible .22 LR/ .22 Mag.

***A .38 is different from a .357. Yes you can use 38 caliber bullets in a .357 but NOT the other way around. Talk about eating your own!***
Years ago, Skeeter Skelton, gun editor of SHOOTING TIMES, found that there were some .38s with too deep chambers that would chamber a .357 mag round.
I have a lot of .38 spl military cases that I have loaded very hot to shoot in a .357 lever action rifle. They have a warning not to shoot them in a .38 spl pistol.
another treet agitatorlike the one in our whitehouse?
Not a Colt or S&W.
I thought it was an ASTRA but my book THE ILLUSTRATED ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HANDGUNS by A B ZHUK shows, on page 81, it to be an piece of Rohm GmbH junk. A RG-57 to be exact.
Ever see "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy? Just think what Devonte could have been had he only been allowed to live!!
But no, those wyatt men had to shoot him down when he wasn't running but was only pointing a gun at police.
“The teenagers friends refused to say exactly what prompted the cops to fire”
Someone pull a gun on me, and I’ll shoot too
You beat me to it.
The cylinder release is the first clue.
The cylinder release, coupled with the shape of the hammer, then the unshrouded base pin... means it’s a Rohm.
It’s a piece of crap. Cheap metal, poorly fitted. It’s a piece of crap, through and through. I’ve seen guys put inordinate amounts of effort into trying to fix Rohm .22LR revolvers.
Personally, I’d rather rub cow patties into my hair before I owned one.
” the perp would have gotten shot if he pointed a .22 at an officer.”
He would have been shot if he pointed a Chihuahua at an officer!;)
And lets not for get he was an entreprenuer and a father of 8
And was it ABC that digitally “removed” the blood from Zimmerman’s scalp?! Scum!
It’s not a Colt or S&W. I’d guess maybe Rossi or older Taurus. I don’t regard Glocks very higly, but they’re light years better than the off-brand junker in the pic.
I still think it’s a low-end pot-metal junker. It’s certainly not a Colt or S&W.
No Colt Trooper ever had a crane like that. It’s several steps lower than that.
Yeah, I’m thinking Astra. Couldn’t think of the name. Astra also made some good quality guns, but that one’s a couple of cuts below a Colt or S&W.
A .38 Special gun will not chamber a .357. The .357 case is 1/10th inch longer to keep idiots from blowing themselves up.
