We have lost that battle. Our country will become bilingual, but it will not collapse like Japan, or turn moslem like Europe.

If we have lost that battle, then this Republic is finished. We will slowly decline into a Third World country and the Constitution and the vision of our Founders will be historical footnotes. If you think that being colonized by the Third World is better than what is happening in Japan or Europe, then we profoundly disagree.

If we have Spanish as a second official language, then the country will be Balkanized linguistically and culturally. Demography is destiny.

Think of the new immigrants as people who have been given green cards written in invisible ink, if they have been here for decades, without ‘consequences.’

When you legalize their status, they add to our fiscal problems. We had a blanket amnesty in 1986. It was supposed to be the first and only one. The government estimated that 1 million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. The process was rife with fraud.

Now just 27 years later we are proposing to have a second amnesty with 11 million illegals--according to government estimates. The numbers could be much higher. And when you legalize the 11 million they will be able to bring in tens of millions of family members thru chain migration Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation estimated that 66 million would be eligible when he analyzed the 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty, which is almost identical to what Rubio and the Gang of 8 are proposing.

It is up to our elected representatives to see that laws are upheld, and amnesty has been the unspoken ‘law’ for the past 25 years.

They didn't do that with the 1986 amnesty. Why should we believe them now? Why not just try enforcement first and only to see if we can really do it? Why do we have to hold enforcement hostage to amnesty?

So this guy married to Gabby Giffords, what an awful man.

He’s been promised a political run for this stand of his, I just know it. Lord,he’s an astronaut, personable and married to a brain-injured congress woman....I could write the book!

So he sells us out and joins the cause to take away OUR guns....even though we didn’t do a thing to cause his pain.

What an awful, awful person.

I don't see a Jeb win in the offing.Both Bush's have been destroyed by the Old Media with neither one defending themselves and we can do only so much.We didn't even do that.

I do see however only two candidates with charisma.

Palin/Rubio.

They both have instant recognition, ability to raise money, ability to think and speak attract many voters.

As much as I respect and like Plain.Yet I don't see her in the offing as a potential potus candidate, yet.

If there is someone else that I missed who has all these qualities please point him/her out to me.

Also I am trying not to destroy a potential candidate before he she even gets to that point.

Juan is mystified on why this is the President’s sequestor. (guess he didn’t realize it was the admin’s idea) blames Republicans for voting for it.

Woodward says dem’s are quietly asking obama if the cuts can be delayed for a year.

....think this Gavin guy is light in the loafers?

If "he" has spent much more than six weeks around The Beltway and/or the pimp media, that would be a sure bet.

(...as well as most likely being one of his least steps toward damnation.)

I'm from Illinois and in South FL all this month. 46 degrees is balmy for us, so I'm playing today, although it will be tough.

I'm actually disappointed. I was sure since Obozo is close, he could issue an executive order, and make the weather perfect.

I think the big news with Mendezeezez was rumors he was having sex with under age pros in the DR and with “males.”
This alone would make him a Rockstar in New Jersey.There are no corruption laws in New Jersey. Look who is a Senator/ Governor.Criminality is not only supported but revered in NJ.Menedezezezez could run for Governor and probably win.

11 million “law breakers” are not going to be deported. He supports them staying if they work and don’t leech off the state and but an annual report being voted on by the congress.

The proponents of amnesty are wont to create the false choice between a blanket amnesty and mass deportation of 12 to 20 million illegal aliens. In reality, we have other choices and alternatives that don’t reward people who have broken our laws with the right to stay and work here and an eventual path to citizenship. The 12 to 20 million illegal aliens did not enter this country overnight and they will not leave overnight. Attrition through enforcement works. We have empirical data from Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Arizona proving that it does.

During the 2006 amnesty debate, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) commissioned a Zogby poll offering respondents not the false choice between mass deportation or amnesty (a word CIS did not use in the survey), but rather a three-way choice between mass deportation, earned legalization, and attrition — and attrition was preferred two-to-one over legalization.

If we legalize the lawbreakers, it will cost us more money in terms of what benefits they will receive versus what they contribute in taxes. 50% of the lawbreakers don't even have a high school degree. It will cost us $2.6 trillion alone just to cover their entitlement costs for SS and Medicare.

if you dont like he ideas what do you suggest ?

Advocate a pro-immigrant policy of low immigration.

Republicans need to provide the American people with their own comprehensive immigration reform plan, i.e., give people a reason to vote FOR something rather than just attack the other side’s proposals. Such a plan should contain the following elements:

 Formulate a merit based immigration system that brings in the skills and talents to keep us competitive in the global economy;

 Reduce immigration levels based on need more closely approximating 300,000 a year;

 Eliminate extended chain migration, i.e., family reunification, limiting it to the nuclear family,

 Secure the border;

 Enforce existing immigration laws to reduce the current illegal alien population and limit future illegal immigration, i.e., attrition thru enforcement. Enforcement would include: (1) ending the job magnet; (2) increasing coordination at the federal level by eliminating barriers to information sharing among agencies; (3) leveraging state and local enforcement resources; (4) fully implementing the US-VISIT Program to track and deport visa overstays; and (5) make mandatory and improve such programs as E-Verify and 287 [g] authority to assist employers and law enforcement in identifying illegal aliens;

 Eliminate birthright citizenship and the visa lottery program;

 Ensure that anyone who enters this nation illegally is not rewarded by being permitted to stay and work here; i.e., no amnesty;

 Streamline the processing and adjudication of immigration cases;

 Promote pro-immigrant measures that help newcomers assimilate and embrace the values and principles of our Founders and the Constitution.

If the dems can continue to use our resources to buy votes for their side we will be in jeopardy for some time.

Looks like fine pickins...a damn good place for the House GOPPERS to do massive real cuts.

Mexicans...doing the welfare fraud Americans won't do.

How do we get Hispanics to vote for us.My suggestion is to treat everyone the same. Stop trying to divide every American in the country into specific groups and they buy each group and treat everyone the same. Offer equal opportunity through capitalism for all.Why won’t this work.

Kelly was a lifetime govt employee, now he’s hooked up with Baraqqi favorite Elon Musk.

Perfect training to slot into the Senate for the rest of his life.

Anybody know if he dumped wife #1 before or after hooking up with Gabby?

Mark Kelly is Sarah Brady in drag—doing the “Weekend at Bernie’s” shtick cynically dragging the vegetable spouse around in order to gain fame and personal wealth.

I don't think our side will get any traction on immigration until we have all three branches of govt. as Republicans,even then it won't be easy. If there is an immigration bill this year when its all said and done zero will simply EO whatever he does not get from Congress.

We now have an imperial dictator, not a potus.

Woodward -says - something - haltingly -—

Yeah, I almost noticed that.

HEY WOODWARD!

Compared to the Obama related murders in Fast and Furious, and Bengazi, and his all out war on the American standard of living...

...exactly what did Nixon do that was so freaking horrible??? (besides give you some semblence of phony importance)

We need someone who can make a case for treating everyone the same and then point out how some groups are shown favor by the commies vs.other groups.
