Posted on 01/25/2013 11:33:20 AM PST by EXCH54FE
A proposed ban on sales of assault weapons would be defeated in the U.S. Senate today unless some members changed their current views, based on a Bloomberg review of recent lawmaker statements and interviews.
At least six of the 55 senators who caucus with Democrats have recently expressed skepticism or outright opposition to a ban, the review found. That means Democrats wouldnt have a simple 51-vote majority to pass the measure, let alone the 60 votes needed to break a Republican filibuster to bring it to a floor vote.

OK, but keep a lookout for the “compromise” bill.
The DiFi bill was intended to distract us.
All Senate Blue-dogs MUST be defeated in 2014. Prepare for the battle of you life!
With a Republican majority in the House, the situation in the Senate should be
irrelevant. Oh that’s right, John “I surrender” Boehner is still Speaker. :(
I think THEY know we are taking names!
Don't worry. Even if Speaker Boehner fails to uphold the Supreme Law of the Land, we still have Chief Justice Roberts defending our fundamental, God-given constitutional rights. Does that make you feel better?
The strong talk and massive buying has them running scared, as it should be.
It's working brothers, keep standing firm !
Somebody’s got something on Roberts.
Either something extremely embarassing,
or a threat to someone he can’t protect.
We're not playing around either. Anyone who votes for or supports as evil an act as the gun ban will never get my vote for anything. Subverting the Constitution is an unforgivable offense against our country.
I think they know they’ve caused a line in the sand to be drawn.
People are fed up and arming up.
Not a good situation if you’re an “elite ruling class” member.
Don’t flatter yourself. All they are doing is holding out for a deal, ala Ben Nelson.
I have faced evil, face-to-face, and his response was wrong regardless of the threat. He should not have surrendered. It would take a whole lot to balance the harm he did in one terrible day, and even Methuselah did not live long enough to accomplish that much.
I wonder how many “Cornhusker kickbacks” Baraq and Dingy Harry have in the bank on this one....
You are oh so right.
S.150 is (we hear) the whole ball of wax, but they're working on the sub-parts one at a time as well.
Don't take your eyes off the various balls in the air right now:

I think you’re correct. Over the past few weeks I have been going into debt buying things I didn’t want and may never use. Heck of a creative way to stimulate the economy. LOL
The other thing about this bill that really sticks in my craw is that the "Ruling Elite" wanted to exempt themselves from the same laws they were trying to force on "The Ruled"...!
Am I PO'd? YOU BET!!!
Write/call/email your representatives! Tell them where you stand and that you expect them to represent you on these views and values! When they start hearing from the "Silent Majority" and they see their own election chances being threatened, they start paying attention...
“Dont flatter yourself. All they are doing is holding out for a deal, ala Ben Nelson.”
Don’t you mean BRIBE? They also told us Obamacare didnt have enough votes to pass.
Any politician that proposes an infringement of liberty while exempting elected government officials from that same infringement needs to be strung up. I mean literally, they need to fear for their lives in doing something like that.
Haven't they done this before? On other bills? Aren't they exempt from 0ScaryCare? (I haven't read the bill, so I'm not sure.)
Correct! Why in hell are any Republicans working on a bipartisan deal?
They should filibuster this bill to death, and if it is brought to a vote, ensure that nothing is "watered down" to make it palatable.
Let’s hope so. This is bad...
Watch out for McCain.
Yes, as new as the Gun Free School Zones Act.
Blank checks drawn on unlimited accounts are very persuasive.
If the near possibility of “AR” style weapons being banned goes away, can we expect prices to come back down?
Supply and demand is like gravity.
The supply will catch up with the demand.
Guns and ammo prices seem like gas prices. Any worry and they’ll spike and never come down.
nicely done, thanks for the link
Better a blue dog than a rino, ass hole, bastard like Mark Kirk - so called "R" Illinois, who has just introduced his own gun grabbing bill in the senate.
Yes, I would vote for a blue dog dem before I would vote for him. Unfortunately here in Illinois that is not an option. Republicans vie with democrats to see who can be the most liberal.
A pox on the lot of them.
The point is to keep the controversy alive in order to embarrass and ridicule the GOP. Every topic is designed to keep chipping away at Republicans, and even RINOs. The topic doesn't matter.
We learned with the passage of Obamacare that Congress is not interested in the public’s opinion.
Every decision from now on will need a ton of public energy.
Yeah, I hear ya’, but we gotta take this step by step. Get solid control of the Senate and House. This stops Obama in his tracks. Then clean house - without mercy - of the RINOs!
If I cannot purchase an AR, can I purchase an AK?
Thanks for the list! Would you be willing to start a thread for more exposure?
All Senate Blue-dogs MUST be defeated in 2014
Mary Landrieu goes!!!!
You know, I was thinking the same thing. Several contributing factors also caused this. Among them:
1.) People ARE fed up and they are no longer just arming up. They are mobilizing. We Will Fight!
2.)More of us than them. Even though their turning this into a class war. Their “class” of people are sheeples based on emotional, low education, cowardice. Not the people they can count on to defend them.
3.)People are more than just mobilizing, they are organized, educated, and prepared.
4.)Even though they are some liberal, pos’s in the military, their also outnumbered by the conservative, God fearing, American loving constitutionalists.
5.)People will not give up their guns, no way, no how, no way in hell, hence number 1.
6)Last, but not least. If for some unGodly reason they past it. The constitution is on our side. Us, We the people! when it’s all said and done we are on the right side of the law. Which means as traitors, after we win, their is a reality to their cowardice also that says, f u obummer, I’m not dying for you.
(((Applause)) Shakes your hand :o)
for the fact we have mobilized,
has there been ANY msm coverate of the ESS being canced due to a british company decision?
rush only had a wire blub blaming the nra for cancelling the show.
Morris? Rush? anybody?
McCain and his ilk would roll over and play dead to ditch us for the capacity issue. These senatorial buffoons have no idea where tech is today. They are still amazed by desktop computing devices.
Pretty strong feeling it regards his sexual preferences or proclivities in one way or another. But, who knows?
Interesting and true question. I believe this shows us a couple of things. Someone maybe needs to send the info hot off the presses to the conservative talk shows at the time or did and it was not important enough to them. Regardless, this shows us how all of You! and us did it together. Keep up the good work. Though the conservative talk shows are still needed imo. We don’t need to totally be reliant on them either. Likewise, this should scare the hell out of you and wake you up the fact obummer wants to control the internet. I realize there are some pretty bad and/or shady things that happen over the internet. But it’s clearly used as a medium to by pass state run mediate, communicate, and mobilize.
I need to better check my posts....lol To many spelling errors. Just saying. :o)
I need to update it...
Well then, THANK you! :)
Henry Bowman is out there somewhere!
“Somebodys got something on Roberts.
Either something extremely embarassing,
or a threat to someone he cant protect.”
I agree with you.
