Liberal celebrities are piling on the Wendy's fast food chain, facts and economic realities be darned.
Dan Savage, Nathan Fillion and Sarah Silverman are tweeting for others to join their Wendy's boycott after news leaked that the hamburger chain will be slashing some workers' hours due to restrictions placed upon them by ObamaCare.
Too bad the trio didn't read the fine print - or look beyond standard far-left outlets like ThinkProgress. The worker cuts in question are only applicable to a handful of Wendy's outlets, not the whole chain itself.

My employer has “only” a $25,000 annual limit ,so got a waiver because obamacare mandates over a million $$ annual medical limit.MY employer certified that coverage at that level is unaffordable..

My bud works here for WB, and Fillion was the voice of Green Lantern on one of WB’s DC direct to video movies. From what he told me, Fillion is an arrogant ass clown.

Yeah, Silverman had a cute schtick many years ago when she was young. I don’t even know if she’s still working these days, although she did pop up on ‘Monk’ a few years ago. I guess it can’t really be a surprise to anybody that she’s a moron.

I’ve honestly never heard of Filion or Savage before. I have heard of Sarah Silverman before, unfortunately. She is easily one of the least funny people on this planet.

A real shame to see one of my favorite actors (Fillion) exposing his ignorance like that. For those who care, on “Castle” he plays the title character, a “famous” mystery writer who occasionally plays poker (or did early in the series) with well-known screenwriters. In-show, he’s rich enough to buy a New York restaurant on a whim, and lives in a downright huge apartment in the city. The show is ok, not great, and is *really* formulaic, but he is a good actor, so it is still enjoyable.

I got a notice from my employer provided insurance in Oct, 2010 that my premiums were going up 30% starting Jan 2011, one reason given explicitly was that due to a provision in the "affordable care act", going into effect as of Jan 2011, that required no life time limit. It was previously $5 million limit.
The other reason, also explicitly stated was that, up to 26 year old children must be included on the policy.
My premiums are now almost 50% higher than they were in 2010.
I cannot afford any more of this "free" insurance.

It’s not just Wendy’s - all fast food restaurants are letting full timers go as well. My daughter runs 5 McDonalds and her heart grieves for the people she has to let go or cut back - but these are the times obummer gave us.
Yes...Wendy’s is not the only place....many fast food chains are dropping hours (to below 29 hours) on part timers, and laying off full timers that are on benefits...
If actors and actresses knew anything about numbers, business, economics, etc. would they pay such horrendous fees and percentages to agents and business managers? Actors and actresses are the last people anyone should look to for advice or an opinion on business. Go back to memorizing your lines and working on that pouty face look sweetheart. Real businesses have to deal with real world income and expenses. obamacare has upped the expense side, gotta cut other expenses to balance the books.
I’ve recently been following Adam Baldwin on Twitter. Adam played Jayne Cobb in Firefly. I swear the man is or was a Freeper. Look him up, it will warm your heart and maybe restore a bit of faith.
Does anyone know the impact of Obamacare on seasonal contract labor? Is health insurance not required as long as weekly hours are kept below 29?
This is a 3-4 month a year operation when contract laborers will work up to 29 hours/week. The rest of the year, hours will be less per week and only a day or two per week.
As an aside, how to make a homemade Wendy’s Frosty.
Wendy’s Frosty
Freeze the ice cream maker bowl for 24 to 48 hours.
Put plastic wrap on the bowl to prevent ice crystals
from forming.
1 quart rich, thick chocolate milk
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
In a medium bowl, whisk together chocolate milk and
sweetened condensed milk until combined. Pour into
canister of 1-1/2 quart ice cream maker and freeze
according to your ice cream maker’s directions.
Turn your ice cream maker on before pouring. This
helps to prevent the liquid from sticking to the
sides right away. Pull off the plastic wrap from your
ice cream maker bowl, and pour the mixture into the
bowl as it is turning. Blend for about 25 minutes for
a thick consistency. Serve in cups (with spoons).
With a blender
In a large mixing bowl, combine chocolate milk and
sweetened condensed milk. Mix the ingredients using a
large blender. Once thoroughly combined, put the mixture
into a freezer safe container and freeze for 2 or more
hours, making sure you stir thoroughly every half hour
until desired thickness is reached.
I have always suspected that the reason that people like this into show business in the first place is because they don’t have the brains or character to do anything else. JMHO
