Okay once and for all WAS the AR used in the shootings or not?
Early reports said no, but later reports state it was used. Do we know what happened?

Yes. All the children were killed with .223 rounds. Lanza wanted to kill as many people as possible. Why would he have left the most effective weapon he had at his disposal back in the trunk of his car? The weapon left in the trunk was a shotgun.

As much as I wish this wasn't an "assault weapon" related crime, fact is, it was, and all the conspiracy nuttery isn't going to change this.

The ME’s presser said he used the .223 for all murders; handguns never used. The long gun in the trunk was a shotgun. I posted vid of cops racking-out shells.

My 12/29 post:

According to the ME’s presser, he used to AR-15 to do all the killings. They found another long gun in the trunk. Look at the shells being racked-out; looks like 12ga.

This article says he had the AR-15 and 2 handguns w/ him, and a shotgun was found in the car:
