The one thing I am always afraid of in budget negotiations is that virtually nothing is done, or worse yet, something counterproductive is done.
Obama's latest Fiscal Cliff "Mini-Deal" Proposal is exactly the kind of counterproductive nonsense I am talking about.
Assuming the above Atlantic Wire article is correct ...
Four Strikes Is An Out
I am against all four ideas and it's hard to say which one is worse. Certainly we need to scrap all farm subsidies, not put back those that have been scrapped.
Hopefully the House punts this ball a mile high, or better yet, let's hope this does not clear the Senate in the first place.
Purportedly the deal would only be for 60-90 days which would in all likelihood do nothing but allow further watering down of the proposal in yet another can-kicking exercise at that time.
Since the market is not blasting higher on this preposterous idea, it's safe to assume this deal is Dead-on-Arrival in the House, if it were to get there.
As I have said on numerous occasions, the best offer on the table is to let the alleged "fiscal cliff" happen.
The Milk deal is a Schummer payoff. I have no problem with that.
I don’t want any deal. I don’t want subsidies for any product, and I don’t want entitlements to be extended any further. I’ll pay $8/gallon for milk, and I’ll do without ethanol....also please don’t tell me oil/gas is subsidized; the lion’s share of oil subsidies is for the Strategi Oil Reserve; Obama will just dole that out this winter for all the poor peoples in the NE who don’t want to pay for their heating oil.
That was peanuts compared to the costs of letting him slip over to the Democrats so they could organize the Senate!
It looks like somebody on the Democrat side remembers those halcyon days ~ which makes me wonder immediately WHOSE VOTE IS FOR SALE!
Were do cows live? Who votes on behalf of cows? ~ gotta' be some Dem senators in New England, New York, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin ~~~ California perhaps? Ever see the price of cheese there? Then there's Oregon ~ and its vast herds of dairy cows.
Rather than complain the writer should work backwards into who has cows and what do they want for them? Then we know where the Democrat wink links are.
Gotta' be a state where there's a weak Democrat senator who has an awful lot of dairy cows making up a disproportionate part of the state economy.
1. Spend money we don’t have.
2. Spend money we don’t have.
3. Spend money we don’t have.
4. Spend money we don’t have.
Thanks, but no thanks. Here’s a radical idea for the parasites to ponder: Reduce the size and cost of government NOW or we’ll do it for you.
So damn sick of the trend and the way this nations mindset has gone rotten.
I did at least get a little revenge... yesterday I did 9 driveways and about 1/4 mile of sidewalks with my mongo (I made that word up, it's huge) snowblower... I like to take care of the oldsters and my neighbors, but I skipped right around the ones I noted with the obama signs in October. Yes, it felt good.
I need a pony.
Hey gaffer, I agree with you. Pain is coming. A man can choose his time for pain. Let’s make it now.
I love it!
What the hell is a “mini deal”? Must be part of Obozos brain.
Obama moving the goalposts once again...
“
No deal. Over the cliff will do more to restore some sanity.”
100% WRONG. A bad deal would be wrong, but the cliff would mean massive tax hikes WHICH OBAMA AND THE LEFT WOULD LOVE TO HAVE.
We should be saving the tax rates we can PERMANENTLY. If its protecting everyone below $500,000 / yr income that is good enough so long as we cut the spending as well and make it permanent.
Only a PERMANENT EXTENSION is worth it.
No deals —
Let the automatic spending cuts kick in
and let the unemployment benefits expire
and let SSI withholding go back up to where it was
and let the House go back home and enjoy the holidays
and let the liberal media wail all they want.
I suggest you all e-mail McConnell. Yapping back and forth to each other is not doing any good except to make us feel better.
I gladly do without Ethanol too. I remember when I got better gas mileage before that crap was added and I want it back
Isn’t that what the left does?
-— but I skipped right around the ones I noted with the obama signs in October. Yes, it felt good. ——
You done good. If they ask, tell them to call FEMA, since Obama cut the red tape.
