You gotta understand - if this proposal generates any kind of positive feedback, and results in a growing chorus of approval, the Left, not being entirely devoid of cognitive intelligence, would seek to commandeer the discussion, and maintain it was theirs from the start.

Further, if it is going to be done, the newly trained school marshalls (every single one of them) will have to be unionized, much like their TSA brethren.

“If you want to professionalize, you must Federalize!!!”

Using that “logic”, the police and even the military should be disarmed because someone who shouldn’t be shot could be put in the line of more gunfire.

I just found out this week that my kids’ school has armed security guards. I was relieved. It’s a private school.

My kids have gone to schools in Seminole county, Florida. Each school has a friendly Sheriff’s Deputy onsite. This is certainly not a guarantee that nothing bad will ever happen, but I bet the wannabe Lanzas/Loughners/Hearns types out there will look for a more “friendly” location to act out their psychotic rage! Why any parent would want their kids to be in a school 8 hrs/day, 5 days/week with no trained armed security in this day and age is beyond belief!

My response to liberals is:

“You’re ok with the idea of protecting banksters’ money with armed guards at banks, but you’re not ok with the idea of protecting school kids’ lives?”

“Parent Helen Gym in Philadelphia believes the proposal is “extraordinarily opportunistic.””

Well look here, Helen just regurgitated two $10 words she overheard at a cocktail party a while back that state absolutely nothing. More words of wisdom from a typical clueless pseudo intellectual.

It’s time to give up on public schools. Not only do they offer a sub-standard education with liberal indoctrination, but they can’t even keep kids safe from bullies even, much less a determined gunman. Home-school your own kids or hire someone to educate them.

Safer like that than in a gun free government school even with a nationwide all-weapons ban.

No guns in class! Good! Now get them hooked on Kindergarten Killer games online.

Blame it on the NRA! I didn’t know there was such a game till now!

Just KNOWING weapons were available in a school would be a h-u-g-e deterrent.

================================================

CASE IN POINT Is merely "carrying" a gun protection enough? Do you actually have to shoot someone to protect yourself? Read on.

Women being stalked is epidemic---so much so there is an entire cable series devoted to the subject. The cases are shocking---women being killed, beaten and maimed just b/c they decided to leave an abusive spouse or boyfriend.

One case involved a successful woman who was brutally beaten by her live-in. She then decided to leave. He stalked her relentlessly, he emptied her bank accounts; she could not hold a job--he would harrass her employers causing her dismissal. She had to move constantly b/c he threatened the life of anyone who sheltered her.

At the end of her rope, she decided she would take a new tact. She got licensed to carry a weapon. When the stalker drove up her driveway, she went outside holding her weapon at her side. She NEVER pointed it at him nor did she use it---she just wanted him to see it.

Oh yeah, he saw it. He turned tail and rarely showed up at her door again.

==============================================

Here's another famous case where just having---not using--- a gun saved two lives.

A NY Dad and his son were on a "bonding weekend" at their isolated New England cottage. A loud insistent knock on the front door aroused the savvy dad's suspicions. The Dad positioned his son behind a large chair out of sight of the doorway.

The Dad then got out his gun and held it at his side---he cautiously pulled aside the curtain on the door and saw a teenaged stranger asking to "use the phone."

The savvy Dad became even more alarmed---he raised his gun and rested his hand on the door jamb---so the stranger could see the outline of the gun. Sure enough the stranger fled.

Later the Dad found signs of a 2nd intruder, the telephone wires had been cut and a makeshift grave dug at the back of the house.

But the story did not end there.

The Dad's story was being told in the context of the brutal knife-killing of husband and wife Dartmouth professors who had let two teenaged strangers into their house.........the same two who had attempted to kill the Dad and his son. The profs did not have weapons.

Superintendent Hank Grishman of the Jericho, N.Y., schools on Long Island says he is outraged by the idea. He says putting more guns in schools won't make children safer, and could even put them in the line of more gunfire.

Now there's a brilliant statement...Why is it legal for these people to even think???

So, someone is insinuating that the know that ALL parents are either hesitant or angry about the proposal to have trained armed teachers to better provide security in schools? Wow. Considering the suggesting was just recently proposed by the NRA, whomever did a survey was certainly quick about it. I call BS. As a parent/grandparent/school employee, I would support having properly trained, licensed teachers with a concealed handgun on campus. In fact, I would volunteer to go through the screening and training process.

Totally! Or so it certainly seems... Between Dr. Spock and a unionized public school system of indoctrination, it's little wonder we live in troubled times!!!
