Top U.S. intelligence officials gathered in the White House Situation Room in March to debate a controversial proposal. Counterterrorism officials wanted to create a government dragnet, sweeping up millions of records about U.S. citizenseven people suspected of no crime.

The rules now allow the little-known National Counterterrorism Center to examine the government files of U.S. citizens for possible criminal behavior, even if there is no reason to suspect them. That is a departure from past practice, which barred the agency from storing information about ordinary Americans unless a person was a terror suspect or related to an investigation.
Now, NCTC can copy entire government databasesflight records, casino-employee lists, the names of Americans hosting foreign-exchange students and many others. The agency has new authority to keep data about innocent U.S. citizens for up to five years, and to analyze it for suspicious patterns of behavior. Previously, both were prohibited. Data about Americans "reasonably believed to constitute terrorism information" may be permanently retained.

And his side lost.
Janet Napolitano will umpire "reasonableness" -- you right-wing terrorist scum.
That's called a "pivot". Gotta know how to pivot and pass ... and go for the slam dunk in their faces.
Life is really basketball, you know. If you know about basketball, you can run a country.
They have cell phone games now that ask a never ending series of either-or questions that could essentially be used to build a rough marketing and/or personality profile. Big brother can then compare you to known personality samples...such as professionals, dimwit democrats or useful idiots...even samples of violent felons.
Of course, there is always room for interpretation. Possibly you are deemed independent and assertive. And, you have a generally unfavorable profile meaning your not a useful idiot. Your assertiveness may be deemed a propensity to violence. Say hello to the no fly list...given we can instantly scan your license plate => the no tunnel list and no bridge list. Your effectively contained as the threat you might be.
“Unions” ...
Indeed, the politicos will fudge the program so that there is no “disparity.”
Equal numbers of union thugs and innocent grandmas will be snagged by the Though Police Drag...Net.
The programming will be a mockery against honesty, as it attempts repeatedly to deny recidivism and exclude from the net of its daily catch, anybody on the take.
The “vast database” is probably some service sold by Google, which happens to be used, unfortunately, by this very forum (FR uses google-analytics).
I didn’t get onboard the series when they have white “thugs” harassing the train passengers on the first episode..
Seriously...the only group whom I’ve witnessed time and time again on subways harass/threaten people/act like children from NY to L.A. are blacks.
The ballot box is hopelessly corrupted as witnessed by our last election. . the next will be worse.
The Obama administration plans on destroying capitalism and replacing it with big government socialism/communism.
Armed patriots cannot get our country back without help from the military.
The active duty military and veterans took an oath to protect our country from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Live Free or Die.

Exactly. This is why the liberal takeover of public education since the 1960s is so Satanic in nature. It was an ultra long range goal to brainwash successive generations against gun ownership whereby the children and grandchildren of those initially brainwashed can reinforce the propaganda to their parents and keep the cycle moving.
Now, look at our military and police. All (even those in private schools) subjected to extended propaganda that will allow them to eventually act against the Constitution and against the PEOPLE. All save for a tiny minority that are home schooled. Want proof? Look as far as the post Hurricane Katrina gun confiscations in New Orleans and surrounding areas. National Guard griped that they weren't in Iraq anymore but they still followed orders, didn't they?
“Welcome to 1984. You’ll learn to love Big Brother, too.”
This started with the “Patriot” Act, which gave the government unprecedented powers to look into the private affairs of American. It, along with the administration’s claim of a right to indefinitely detain anyone suspected of supporting terrorism, with no right to a trial or even to know the specifics of the charges, was embraced by the country at large.
Surprisingly, most “conservatives” supported this abrogation of our rights, reasoning that the Constitution, and specifically the Bill of Rights, was not a “suicide pact”, and that the dangers of terrorism were such that we should forget about our rights. This is but a continuation of that long, sad period.
With "Elections" the way they are what choice do we have?
