It is a fallacy that RTW brings more jobs to states. Good not to be forced to pay union dues, but the cause and effect has not been proven.

Edit to me: Hopefully there won’t be any people caring for family members that will be paying union dues. What a joke that was.

The cause and effect is demonstrable ~ particularly in the auto industry.

You did realize it used to be in Michigan, Ohio, Ontario, Indiana and Wisconsin ~ right?

It moved!

Excuse me? Big labor has virtually taken over California- turned it into a one party state. The unions have helped to destroy our economy here, ruin the election process and have proven that they would rather see the state go down in flames than concede even one penny of their big fat pensions.

The big 3 will almost undoubtedly remain largely unionized but it sure frees up the smaller suppliers.

When I was a kid in Detroit, the Labor Day celebrations were by far the biggest of the year.

RTW in MI is beyond hugh and series. Unbelievable.

With the maxed out taxed out businesses in the State of California, there’s soon to be a mass exodus of businesses there.. I think the Socialists WANT private sector to leave California so that they can make it a 100% government-operated State that will spread out from there and eventually connect with the East.

Well actually, it has been empirically shown that, ceteris paribus, higher rates of unionization results in higher unemployment. This also follows from economic reasoning.

My experience with Big Three employees is they mostly vote Republican ~ which is one of the reasons I didn't understand why Obamugabe was bailing out GM.

That margin of 6 in each chamber isn't enough though. They need a 3/4 majority so they can constitutionalize RTW else someday the Democrats will slip back into office and screw everything up.

That's why those industries are going to forge ahead with their move to Indiana! Michigan's people will need to show some staying power.

I suspect that the social welfare community is a much larger percentage of the population in CA and so a much higher barrier to meangingful reform.

Otherwise I'd allow myself a glimmer of hope from the developments in MI.

Tell that to those in NY and NJ who suffered during the Sandy fiasco. Out of town workers with equipment turned around and sent home! Non union workers cars/equipment stolen or damaged.

Went to the News and Free Press web sites, FP the law includes an appropriation, so it’s referendum proof.

Bad news from the Det. News, law won’t go into effect until April 1st.

Well guess I’ll still have to pay union dues for a few more months.

Democrat Fleebaggers overplayed their cards in IN over RTW.

Pat Bauer lost his leadership job and Democrats now enjoy a veto-proof Republican majority and Republican Governor because of their childish opposition.

Was a great moment tonight when the news of the passage in the Senate was sent to me as the gavel fell. When I interrupted our Ottawa County convention this evening to make the announcement of the Senate vote, the caucus erupted into cheers and applause. Then back to the process of the making sausage. Always a sight to behold.
