“China’s government is mourning a key engineer behind its aircraft carrier programme who died of a heart attack after witnessing the first landing of a plane on the ship.”

I’m glad that he had least got to see it land (or so they say). I imagine failure would have been the end of his career and the end of his nice life as he knew it. He probably had a fleeting moment of “Yippie - my life will be okay....”
