China's government is mourning a key engineer behind its aircraft carrier programme who died of a heart attack after witnessing the first landing of a plane on the ship.
For whom? ;)

“Shenyang Aircraft head dies in China’s first carrier landing”

Every day I become more and more appalled at the way news headlines are written.
“Suspected heart attack” must be code for “You have failed the Politburo!”
He was so impressed with them he keeled over and died.
He allowed himself a capitalistic thought, and then was smitten by communist conscience and croaked.
“Chinas government is mourning a key engineer behind its aircraft carrier programme who died of a heart attack after witnessing the first landing of a plane on the ship.”
I’m glad that he had least got to see it land (or so they say). I imagine failure would have been the end of his career and the end of his nice life as he knew it. He probably had a fleeting moment of “Yippie - my life will be okay....”
Guess the pattern was full—shouldn’t have done the fly-by.
Thrilled to death.
Guess the pattern was full—shouldn’t have done the fly-by.
In practice, China is one of the more capitalistic nations around. They just can’t call it that, lest they fail to “save face” for being so anti-capitalist for so long.
“This is the happiest day of my life!” *thud*
Karma!
We're conservatives, we pay our own way.
Times are tough on a lot of us, but if you've got a job, really, $5 a month? You're going to miss that? How about turning off the lights when you leave the room? How about dropping the thermostat a degree while you're not at home? How about skipping that fancy pants coffee twice a month?
All we're asking for is $5 a month. Get out that wallet, input your Debit/Credit card #, set up a monthly and forget about it.
If this ham-n-egger can be a dollar a day guy, you can pony up $0.17 a day. Seventeen cents a day for all the time you spend on FR?
Cerainly, a bargain at twice the price, don't you agree?
You'll feel much better about your time on FR.
Confucius say man who watch flatop landing flatline.
Chinese food is mostly fried, isn’t it? In a wok, but still fried.
My father said putting his F-4 on the deck was the most terrified he ever was.
If it’s a naval aircraft is the restroon the head?
I have 242 traps in that beast ......best AC i ever flew though
The head died; what about the rest of his body? On life support?
Plus...free self-installation toolkit!
His body will continue to work for the Party until they say it can retire.

We also had to add the actual first paragraph of the article; then added and attributed Associated Press in the source space and finally, we had to excerpt the rest of the Associated Press article.
Here are some helpful links for your review.

Good job, not to razz on this poster but I have seen a slew of new articles that had misleading titles, most aimed at creating some form of “pull” to get attention. Recent one was about the moon being destroyed which was far from the truth.
let it be known that we want the truth, not the liberal method of creating anger, fear, suspicion, hate or sympathy. Just the facts. Ther will be times when we need to stir up anger, but only when its needed.
This was probably more of a case of “thank heavens it worked/didn’t crash”, and the relief that he *wasn’t* going to be executed for failure was so great the guy’s heart stopped.
He would be alive today if only the rich had paid their fair share for universal healthcare.

It's hard enough with a little cross-wind on land. I can't imagine trying to set down on a big bobber. Here's to ya.
