Can Mitt Romney Save Hostess?

Could Mitt Romney save Hostess?

Like him or not, if you have ever shopped at a Staples and/or Sports Authority, you have Mitt Romney and his Bain Capital buddies to thank. And now that Mr. Romney is not running — well anything, maybe he can shift his energy towards an endeavor greater than saving the nation from the “looming fiscal cliff” … and rescue my favorite cakes from extinction.

Sure President Obama may have saved the auto-industry, but bring back Ho Ho’s, Sno-Balls and Wonder Bread and Virginia, Minnesota & Michigan become easy wins in the next presidential election. Wanna big wins in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in 2016? Save Hostess and butter statues of Mr. Romney would be erected from across the American Plains.

Let’s face it. State Fairs without “Deep Fried Twinkies” are simply … un-American!

We need someone dedicated to making America American again and give us back us back our preservative-filled, plastic-wrapped cupcakes. We need Mitt Romney!

Mr. Romney, we’re sorry for not electing you as President. But maybe the old adage is true: When a door closes, God opens a window. Here’s your chance to serve the greater good.

Mr. Romney, please continue your public service. More than ever, our nation needs you.

Mitt Romney, please save Hostess!

Of course not...but criticism is cheap. Want to affect the country? Do more than hate on the guy who stepped to the plate. The constant belittling posts attacking Romney is silly.

For California as a whole it is good, but you weren’t talking about that, you were meaning purely La Jolla, the creepiest section of San Diego and while half republican, are not conservative.

By the way, I don’t think that your current count of Romney homes is accurate, politifact puts it at 4.

If you want to help the country, then help stop the man who has done so much to hurt it by dominating the GOP primary process for 7 years, in his lifelong war against conservatism.

Romney is a disaster, a Reagan hating, tea party hating, liberal who will now try to dominate and damage the GOP even after his embarrassing loss to Carter, Part II.

Help us to help usher this Massachusetts creep, off of the GOP stage, and out of republican politics.

Yeah, poor mittens didn't want the job but reluctantly recruited the national party insiders to put their thumbs on the scales from caucus to convention to shove his nomination down the throats of the rank and file.

Bravely he gave the GOP the clear choice between the liberal, anti-gun architect of the current health care law...or obama.

Poor mittens the martyr. Didn't those rubes realize that it was HIS TURN!

Know the place well. Some of the inlaws live there ~ overlooking the ocean.

Like all of California these days, you do not need to invest in anything new to get something great at a bargain price. Secondly, with the Democrats in power you really have to ask yourself why you'd throw your money away!

Once Hostess sheds the unions, it would take an idiot to lose money selling twinkies and bread.

Now you are whipped up into a proper state.

I won't help usher Romney off the stage, and I won't attack a good and decent man, who deserves more, in my opinion, than the slander of the small.

“whipped up”, “proper state”? If you always think and talk like that, it helps explain the hold on you that William Weld’s protege has.

You don’t seem interested in hearing about Romney, nor in defending him in any relevant, way.

Romney never belonged in republican politics, it is easy to see why he chose to run in Massachusetts instead of Utah, which he considered before settling on the state that was closest to his politics.

Too bad he chose to register republican in October of 1993, after having left the party because of it’s conservatism and his coming to support only democrats, including fund raising and voting democrat, and of course the fund raising for Planned Parenthood.

“I think Bill Weld comes as close as anyone,” Romney said when asked whom in his party he aligned with.

“I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush,”

“I’m not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”

*“My position has been the same throughout my political career, and it goes back to the days of 1970,” he said. “There was a woman who was running for political office, U.S. Senate. She took a very bold and courageous stand in 1970, and that was in a conservative state. That was that a woman should have the right to make her own choice as to whether or not to have an abortion. Her name was Lenore Romney, she was my mom. Even though she lost, she established a record of courage in that regard.”*

“These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Now you've bored me. So, I'll leave you alone with your hate of Romney and judgments of me.

But take cheer...there are plenty of people on Free Republic who will join you in your slander of a good man.

LOL, you got bored so quickly that you couldn’t challenge the truth about Mitt, the man who has won a single election in 20 years of running for office, and who couldn’t run for reelection because he left with 34% approval.

You are correct that a conservative site like freerepublic, has many critics of the lefty from Mass.

You calling a dedicated pro-abortionist and a radical for the homosexual agenda a “good man” is interesting, good men don’t want to homosexualize the Boy Scouts, and promote and fund raise for abortion.

Now you've bored me. So, I'll leave you alone with your hate of Romney and judgments of me. ....

Man ... people, cheer up. The silver lining is that if Romney had won, mentalities like Carton and his/her "you hate Romney" ugliness we've seen so often on FR since the first primary tumbles in 2007, that peculiar Romney sycophant arrogance that only perceives "hate" as standing behind any rejection of his functional Democrat registered as a Republican, would have typified an entire administration. Conservatives would have been shut-out like errant children and liberal Democrats would have been sought like best buddies; noble bipartisans all.

Romney's loss just might give conservatism a second chance, but as long as mindsets like Carton feel welcome in the GOP, then the GOP is doing it wrong and headed for another loss.

Hey, Carton, and any other Republican who thinks Romney is fine and dandy -- go home to the Democrat party where you belong and please, take Mitt with you.
