Heck of a job there Bammy. Tell me again why we don't need the the Keystone pipeline, shale plays or oil sands development? I keep forgetting.

Instead of bombing Iraq to smithereens and leaving, Bush just had to do nation-building, spending $1T along the way, and giving us Obama and two far left Supreme Court judges. Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” as applied to foreign affairs really screwed us big time. And the leading lights of the GOP are now looking to apply Bush’s policy towards any Arab troglodytes who want to overthrow their governments. What part of “inside every foreigner *isn’t* an American struggling to get out” don’t they understand? The way democracy works is garbage in, garbage out. America-haters will vote in an America-hating government. Ultimately, the neo-con manifesto is yet another example of the triumph of hope over experience in dictating foreign policy - disaster after disaster leaves these fantasists completely unfazed.

That arrogant jackass was (and is) more than happy to let Iraq implode.

To be fair, this is the elder Bush's fault. When Saddam, a secular dictator grabbed the theocratic sheikhdom of Kuwait and threatened the Saudis (who sponsor and created the Wahabbi, Sunni-fanatical movements around the world like the Taliban and alQaeda) and who could have got more money to continue his fight against the Ayatollahs in Iran

When Saddam did this, Bush I went in to protect the Saudis. The presence of American troops on Saudi was the "provocation" or rather justification used by AlQaeda for 9.11

Then we took out a secular dictator, SAddam in 2003 and replaced him with THIS.

What a waste of lives and money.

Just some thoughts I’ve had about the oil situation.
I would suggest the US produce enough domestic oil to bring world prices down to two dollars per gallon. We would make a lot of money on it and severely hurt the current set of oil producing states economically. At the least, we have the ability to manipulate world oil prices too. If they want to try and hurt us, fine, we start producing more to make up the difference. It would help us and hurt them since we don’t depend upon the income like they do. We really have a commanding position if we would use oil as a sort of economic Détente weapon.

Did we recently scrap all of our B-1s, B-2s and B-52s or something?

"Liberated Iraq calls on Arab states to use oil as 'weapon' against U.S."

That's nice.

Iraq is just doing what Obama wants.

If this comes to pass, oil will go up even more.

Congress needs to open up all possibilities for producing/refining oil in this country and the pipelines necessary to distribute it.

It’s an old cliche, but: “We can burn our wheat. Let them eat their oil.”
With newly proven oil & gas fields in this country and other energy technologies such as ethanol production, that old cliche is truer to reality now than ever before. We need to cut off ALL foreign aid. The U.S. is broke. Let these camel humpers starve.

As I’ve said for years, becoming energy independent (drill here, drill now) is not merely a matter of economics.

It is a matter of national security.

Those that have prevented the US from using her own energy resources have done so at the peril of our national security.

We don’t need an EMP to suffer the effects of a grid-down situation.

We only need to have our petroleum supply interrupted.
