I’m still in mourning for the loss of the Domino Sugar Plant which loomed over the Brooklyn skyline for years. The grand signage is still there - darkened forever.

We lost the Imperial Sugar plant in Texas and I believe it was the same scenario. Union strikes and the company says come back to work or we’ll have to close. Union refused to go back and they closed.

The same sort of thing happened to the sugar plant in Sugarland TX, a town that was named for it. Was it Imperial? I don’t recall.
