This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.
Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...
If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.
But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.
In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.
They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.
You’re still young! We need you and your vote.
Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters. (Benjamin Franklin)
You can’t go yet. Look!
2014 - 20 Democrat Senate seats up for election

This morning I am on the same page as you. If this is what the United States of America want then so be it. I will put my energies into my faith in God and Family. I don’t recognize my Country any longer and am mourning Her being lost, probably forever this day.
His screen says it all. I’m sitting here this AM trying to figure out how I feel and he posts this. It’s ME! Down to pension, SS and savings and I could have written this. He speaks truth.
Giving up already! Come on get real. So Odumbo won get tough. Now is the time to be strong! Giving up is for sissies and wannabes. Look at the whole picture Executive Branch democrat, Legislative branch is divided at the house and senate level. Odumbo owns whatever happens. So stop crying and start fighting. The time is now to get tough. Semper FI
America’s biggest problem isn’t fiscal decay; it’s moral decay. We’ve institutionalized child sacrifice, infidelity, homosexuality, indolence and irreverence. America won’t be blessed as it was until it changes. And that won’t happen unless it suffers and wakes up.
Never give up.
the Balkanization of the “United” States....it’s here, and it’s over.
One thing to consider - the hyperinflation financial wipeout in our future will likely happen on barry’s watch. After that, democrats won’t be electable for at least two generations.
Amen. Let the youth reap what they have sown...'social justice', you little SOB's...enjoy it.
“Youre still young! We need you and your vote.”
for what? republicans and more debt, higher taxes, and more regulation, and less freedom, or the democrats and even more debt, even higher taxes, even more regulation, and even less freedom.
You may be confusing the difficult with the impossible. It would take an extraordinarily wise and skilled candidate, but it is possible to convince people that they cannot keep expecting free stuff from the government and expect a healthy economy. I hope that, if such a candidate emerges, you will vote for him, because he will need every vote that he can get.
He's a good man. You are both in my prayers.
It’s no longer the “United States” it is now “The State”
“One thing to consider - the hyperinflation financial wipeout in our future will likely happen on barrys watch. After that, democrats wont be electable for at least two generations.”
Why not? Roosevelt and the Dems were re-elected three times during the great depression.
That is what I’ve been posting. He will not be able to blame it on Bush. We are on the edge of the fiscal cliff.
We may have just had the last election anyway. The next time we want hope and change we will have to vote from the roof tops.
My Grandfather told me that every other person you meet on the street are morons. I am now totally convinced of that assessment. I have nothing in common with over half the people in the United States.
Hell, I'm only 56 and I've already got what a late friend referred to as "old cop's disease": I'm tired of people. Really tired of them the last two months, and DAMNED tired of them this morning. Will I vote again? Don't know; we'll see. There's nothing a vulture hates more than biting into a glass eye, and playing the role of glass eye opposite the vultures among us may be the only recreation left to me.
Mr. niteowl77
I agree entirely. My vote no longer counts. It has been replaced by the illegal alien vote that both parties covet.

“When you are going through hell, keep going.”
Though the human spirit will never surrender to this kind of iron fist rule, it sure diminishes and depresses the quality of life. One thing is for certain, history keeps repeating itself and for some reason people have to lose their precious freedoms before they realize how valuable they are. Look how easy it has been for us to lose ours. While we were going about on our merry way, the Communists crept in and took over. The defining moment was when ignorant, dumb struck Americans blindly voted for an ineligible Marxist imposter in 2008. Now they have repeated this self destructive act. What more can you say? History teaches us that once dictators gain the upper hand it is easy for them to manipulate people and events, which explains to an extent these latest election results. At this point regaining our personal freedoms is not at all certain. What we do know following this election is that our freedoms are not going to be regained through conventional means.
How are these namby pamby’s that elected 0bama going to react when WWIII with radical Islam occurs? They will just bow down and get fitted for their burka’s.
But, this wasn’t Democrats turning out to vote. According to Drudge, so far Romney/Ryan have received 6-million fewer votes than McCain/Palin.
I would guess that there are more freeloaders than fare payers...
So, it would be hard to turn out more...
“electable”?????
Look at the machine they had chugging away last night.
This corrupt “election” machine will only become more deeply entrenched next time.
These aren’t elections...this is just theater to give the appearance of elections.
Putin must be so proud.
maybe we should rename the baby boomers as the “wannabe greatest generation”.
You can’t win a fight when the other side is playing dirty and has paid off the ref and the announcers, and you refuse to fight dirty.
I’m older than you—I am your elder. I am apparently wiser and more determined than you. You know, this country was not built by frontiersmen and their wives and families throwing down their axes and their tools and start blaming the bears and the Indians for how difficult things were. They wanted a way of life that some were determined to stop. We know about them because they left us a great heritage and great examples to follow. The heritage you want to pass on is a temper tantrum. You have a responsibility. As Rush says, I’m not going to stop until they all agree with me. Physically and energy-wise, I may not have a lot left to contribute, but I be darned if they’re going to stop me. Now grow up and stop throwing temper tantrums. Overcome. All of them: the press, the Socialist-Liberal Democrats. The letter agencies. The religious left. All of them.
I agree that this is “the last time”. But, not about blaming Bush. The Dem’s will continue to blame Bush into perpetuity if it works. However, “the last time” I do see coming is the demise of the Republican Party. what I see coming is a third party with the Tea Party as its core pulling primarily from the conservative portion of the GOP. Not saying its a good idea, just say I see it coming.
I am 67 and expressed the same point of view last evening albeit not was well as you stated it. In fact, I intend to use the body of your comment to notices to my associates.
I love the notion, you wanted it, you got it so live with it.
Wait till the sniffling little bastards find out the death tax will have to be extended down to below $50 at a rate of 75% just to keep our benefits coming! Those little pots of gold some are waiting for are not going to arrive.
From here on out, anyone younger than 40 approaching me for any financial donation or handout is going to get a three letter response too: GFY. This does not include veterans organizations or the Salvation Army.
I didn’t realize so many people actually like paying double for gas.
I could not have articulated my thoughts this morning any better than what you have done it your post. I’m sick, disgusted and angry. Welcome to the Amerika of Entitlement. I just turned 62, will retire on Jan 1 and seriously doubt I will ever vote in a national election again. Good luck you “gimme my free stuff” sobs...
yea yea heard it all before. After what just happened I zero faith in the “will of the people”. Short of a nuke in our back yard , nothing will jar them from their ingnorance and stupidity.
It isn’t so much that the liberals, have better ideas....it is all about “beating” the conservatives....most liberals, don’t want to hear about the economical downturn....they don’t care about the future of our children....they don’t care about the national debt....trillions in debt, flies over their heads....they more concerned, about buying a pizza...or some pot....no job, well, steal from the rich....
The election results are hard to take. We need organized resistance starting at the state levels on down to you and me, us.
68 here and agree 100%.
This is no longer the nation I served and swore to defend when it called on me to do so.
If it han’t already, America can now count me out.
I’ve had it!
At least you have a pension - for now. We are among those who actually had to save for our retirement. It’s been on us, there is no pension. You apparently have the luxury of sitting back and doing nothing. I do not. I will not give up. I will not stop fighting. Whereas we may have felt alone on an island in the past, the Internet has given us a valuable weapon in the war of information. We are able to find like minded people. We are able to organize. We have a way of getting the truth out there.
As my father used to say, “get off your butt and do something about it”. /rant
han’t S/B hasn’t
Oh really? So the base of our party sat out basically? OR maybe more Republicans voted for zer0 this time around?
Early voting for weeks and allowing dems to accrue a millions more in voters is not a good thing either.
I am in my 70’s and I too have voted in my last fed election. As H.L. Mencken said “ There’s no underestimating the intelligence of the American public”.
God Help and God Bless America,
Ric a U.S. Army vet and Democracy salesman in South East Asia
Nothing, except cast a vote.
The Left does not rest or rely on honesty - it pushes forward. They infect school boards, committees, councils, you name it - and that is where they grind us down.
I had my wake up call, time to take control.
No, the Dems and the media will be able to pin it all on Bush, the way historians still fault Hoover for the Great Depression, ignoring how FDR's policies prolonged the suffering.
That just blows my mind. If Romney had That idiot McCains vote he’d be POTUS...
And when gas is high so is everything basically. Including food and clothes.
