We're particularly interested in the turnout at more democratic precincts in NOVA (Northern Virginia).
I voted in the City of Richmond. The line was smaller than in 2008, which is a good sign for Romney. The makeup of the line was different as well. There were more older, white voters and fewer African-American voters (although a good chunk of the line was AA due to the precinct).
Overall, I think this is good news for Romney.
I am hearing huge lines in the suburbs of Richmond, which again is a good sign.
Voted in Chesterfield County, a suburb of Richmond. Had to wait 25 minutes in what should be Romney country. Drove by two other polling places with what appears to be large turnouts in Romney country.
Voted in Newport News at 7:30. No line, but I was #346 so there must have been a line earlier. About 1,800 votes were cast in my precinct in both 2004 and 2008. Bush carried it by 20 points and McCain carried it by 3 points. Not sure anything can be made from my observation.

I'm in a very red area of Central Virginia and polls were packed. Most I've ever seen in my 25 years of voting.
I voted at precinct 62 in the Landstown section of VA Beach. Got in line at 6:15 and came out of the polling place at 7:30. The line was over a block long and I was talking to the 5or six people in front of me and the 10 behind me and we were all Romney voters. The couple behind me refused to vote in 08 because they couldn’t support McCain, but said they’d never make that mistake again.
Well, have to wait for the kids to get up to go vote.
Of course, school is out here for 3 days I guess for voting and for parent/teacher conferences. I think the teachers actually work maybe a total of 2 weeks in November, with the holidays and conferences.
So, we parents have to gather all the kids up to go vote, which takes some time, while the teachers, I guess, can walk in unemcumbered and unrushed/enjoying their day off —all for THEIR convenience this arrangement ...not ours.
Hubby went out early in PWC/Woodbridge area. Says he stood in line over an hour and missed his bus. Said it seemed about 50/50 R vs Obama voters — but just his observation.
Our area is a weird mix of military, retired military, but also many lower rung government workers and general DC supporting staff as well as GOBS of immigrants. It’s a more conservative bedroom community ... but lots of Obama voters ...lots of Chick Fil A voters, too, however.
Drove by our polling place this morning. I’m in SW VA.
During 2008, there was a line out the door virtually all day, and they were mostly ‘0bama voters’(there are ways you can tell). This morning there was nobody.
When I go back, I’ll have a much better idea, and will provide an update.

According to the Newport News Registrar’s Office, the wrong Newport News precinct ballots were opened at BC Charles. The problem has since been corrected and the location is open for voting, according to the office.

FWIW, this precint was in Rob Wittman’s district and was switched to Scott Rigell’s. Extremely republican precinct. Something fishy is going on.
Voted this morning with Governor Allen in the Mount Vernon district — The crowd was clearly tilted towards the TAKERS, however compared to 2008, the lines were not as long at 6:00 am. Hoping the MAKERS will show up throughout the day and when they return home from work.
Voted in a downtown area of Richmond, heavy Obama territory. The line was shorter than 2008, but the polling place was also more efficient this time. So, I’m not sure what to make of it.
I would note that on Sunday I found a Romney/Ryan brochure on my door. I’ve never received Republican literature in this neighborhood in the 16 years I’ve lived here. So I think that’s a good sign.
Maybe illegal aliens and or useful idiots bussed in and hired to vote for 0mambajamba...

I live in Virginia and arrived at the polling precint @ 5:15 and was about 15th in line. By the time I finished voting the line was 150+. It was about 75% black, which isn’t abnormal, or county is 45% black and went for obama last election. By the time my husband arrived a little after 7:00 he said the racial makeup was exact opposite, it was 75% white, most dressed for work. He said line was 250 + easy. Not sure what to make of it all, but just praying my hardest!
PWC/Woodbridge, got there at about 0650. Finally left at 0800.
VERY strong turnout. I couldn’t believe they only had 4 voting machines for all that crowd.
I voted around 7:30 at Creighton Corner (Loudoun County in NOVA) and the ratio of green (GOP) to blue (Dem) voter guides in the line was probably 5-1 green. Pleasantly surprised!
9th congressional district. Almost 50% of registered voters have voted here. We are a farming community. Heavily conservative.
Northern Virginia, Precinct 113: My wife and step-son voted around 7:30 and said the line was very long. I voted at 9 AM and the line was short. Huge surge in Obama yard signs over last few weeks...and Romney signs stolen.
Three people passing out GOP sample ballots. Only one for the Dems. Passed a GOP canvasser in my neighborhood on my drive back. Not sure what to make of it all.
That's the anti-Romney planned parenthood ads (your tax money at work). They had them on all the radio stations.
