Is it a game changer?
It depends on who is talking, but clearly the decision by former Nebraska Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel to endorse Bob Kerrey is a coup for the Democrat.
Hagel is expected to cross party lines today and back Kerrey in his U.S. Senate race against Republican State Sen. Deb Fischer.
Hagel and Kerrey served together in the Senate. Perhaps more important, both are Vietnam War veterans who developed a strong friendship.
Hagel is expected to make the announcement in Omaha, according to a spokesman for the Kerrey campaign.

The reason he dropped out of politics back in the 1990’s was because he had become too liberal for Nebraska and was told he would lose in a landslide if he ran for reelection. So he went to New York City and taught at a liberal university. Nebraska is NOT going to vote for a liberal Carpetbagger...

Ummmm...Hagel is no longer one of our senators. He was booted a while ago. Unfortunately, some “republicans” in the state helped mr. cornhusker kickback ben nelson to get into office and now he is on the way out as well which is why dirty harry reid made a kickback deal with kerrey to run in order to hold the senate seat.
Nebraska conservatives don’t take upChuck Hagel seriously. At the end of the day, kerrey will go back to his “home” state of NY and hopefully along with hagel and nelson will stay the hell out of Nebraska forever.
