The Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.
Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette is being sent back to the USS John C. Stennis' home port at Bremerton, Wash., in what the Navy called a temporary reassignment. The Navy said he is not formally relieved of his command of the Stennis strike group but will be replaced by Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the investigation is completed.
It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.

Did he threaten to ignore Obastard’s orders to stand down and allow the Benghazi attack to continue?

Things may be getting tense in the five-sided office building.
Counting on, and preparing for, all of it!
Assuming that most of the other 50% are loyal Komrades to begin with, the Political Officers (KGB in the Soviet Navy we understand) will only have to scuttle a few boats with all hands aboard when the order comes to launch on Israel.
Who knows what O is capable of ordering after Nov. 6 - no matter who comes out the “winner”.
Obama may have a hell of a deal for us;
another indefinite term for him and his Muslim Brotherhood as undisputed and absolute rulers, or nuclear holocaust and potential extinction of the human race.
Do you really think that Muslims care a diddle about the survival of our species if they can’t control it?
Think of Obama with a nuclear suicide vest, holding the red button in one hand and a Quran in the other...
Take it or leave it, World...
Nonsense! Look at how well presidential selection the only route in and out of Kosovo that F-117s could use worked out.
that second in command should have been shot on the spot.
The Obama Purge continued
“Civilian control of the military is way over rated.”
Not if you believe in our form of government. Incompetent civilian control of the military is over rated as they usually peter principle the incompetents in the military to higher positions.
No, it isn’t. We occasionally get an asshat in office and we’ll deal with that problem. You don’t go effing up the Constitution, which WORKS and HAS WORKED for over 236 years, longer than any other western governments’ forms of government because of an asshat. You get rid of the asshat.
Normally, I would agree. But Gouette is one of only three commanders who were relieved within the past 24 hours.
In at least one case, there seems to be a connection to Benghazi and the absence of presidential action...
If it came down to that, I seriously believe there’s too many good people who can defend themselves, for them to be stopped.
You've certainly gotten a lot of flack for that.
May I suggest this turn of phrase for next time?:
Civilian micro-management of the military is way over rated.
“Civilian control yes, civilian TACTICAL control, NO. “
I’d say in almost all cases yes. It’s called DELEGATION and that’s what those guys are trained to do. That’s why they’re in the positions they’re in.
Surprise, a Stalin like purge...but hold that thought.
Before YOU make an impassioned plea for someone to come forth with the truth, state your position on NDAA. The stakes for a leak are pretty high now, a dark cell in Poland even death.
Just state your position, it’s not a high hurtle sitting there behind your keyboard. I promise I won’t call you a boot licker, though I can’t speak for others.
Re your #57; I suspect that all of our major officers are now surrounded by Obama loyalists who are under orders to apprehend or kill them immediately if they get out of line.
The troops that these officers actually command who might be more loyal to them then the REMFs in Washington are probably kept well away from them so as not to be able to defend them when the purge comes down.
I sense that we are on the dagger’s edge between the soft and the hard purge now; don’t be surprised if dissident Generals simply cease to be seen or heard from after being “relieved of duty”.
Stalin systematically murdered about a third of his Officer Corps, thousands of them.

Brought up by his “Uncle” Frank Marshall Davis, Obama knows his Stalin well - especially what worked to keep him firmly in control of his empire.
You know how history tends to repeat itself...
Something is very apt to happen within our military any day now, and I’m afraid it isn’t going to be pretty.
We may be seeing the beginning of it even now.
I’m curious as to the reason for the new head of the Med fleet having a 10.5 hour visit to the White House on 1/27/11.
http://white-house-visitors.findthedata.org/l/1271311/Troy-M-Shoemaker
Could be the other way around ~ or, another alternative is that there are a bunch of imbedded KGB agents in the ranks.
is this what you were hearing was coming down??
me too!
dastardly ping
this could be Obummers stupidist move and I’n series
Three commanders? Who is the third?
Obama & Benghazi will forever be linked in the history books.
Of course, not following orders and all but who is this second in command?
I'm guessing they won't be re-writing the Marine Corps Hymn in his honor --
From the shores of Tripoli,
to the streets of Benghazi...
At least Fox is going to stay on top of all this crap as it plays out.
keep giving us your droplets!
can you just imagine the snippin goin on at the White Hut..
...my guess.....some there are scared to death and some actually prayed for the 1st times in their life and not to govt, but to God
this is as big as it gets
WHO IS THE WHITE HOUSE MOLE? (Leon Panetta's Communist Party USA ties)
Wolf Blitzer Should Apologize To Allen West
"A Democratic member of Congress from 1945 to 1947, DeLacy was a CPUSA member, but his party membership was only confirmed after he left the House. After he left Congress, he moved from Washington state to California and lived in a congressional district served by then-Rep. Leon Panetta. Back in 1983 Panetta inserted a tribute into the Congressional Record recognizing DeLacy and his wife Dorothy, another communist, for their commitment to social justice and resisting the dark forces of McCarthyism. Panetta had provided DeLacy a sensitive congressional document dealing with military affairs."

I’ve looked over most of the comments on this thread and I can see the logic of where most people are coming from. I do have some hope though in the fact that the members of our armed forces are all volunteers. That fact tends to weed out those who entered the forces with a ‘chip on their shoulder’ like I saw during the Viet-Nam war and the draftees. And things like ‘fragging’ came about because of it.
Today though I think that a general purge of officers might have the opposite effect on the troops. Unlike in Stalin’s Army there aren’t “loyal” forces following the main shock wave of ground troops with orders to shoot anyone who appeared to be lagging behind or not showing the “proper fervor”.
But even with these factors in our favor, I believe that real bad things could be happening and may even now be unstoppable. Perhaps Benghazi and the Cover-up I see occurring, is just the tip of the Iceberg here?
Maybe he didn’t accomodate the homosexuals bunk partner requests quickly enough.
Issa issued a subtle, (or not) plea on Friday night....saying something to the effect of it would be good if the video from the attack was leaked.
Time for these 2 military men to be issued a subpoena to get to the bottom of this...I’m betting they’ll be happy to talk about the events of that day under oath....
I hadn't heard that one. Good grief.
From what I understand, it was common practice in the Soviet Navy to have at least one KGB “Political Officer” on board to monitor the scuttlebutt; often imbedded secretly among the crew no one knew who it was but they knew they were being watched so were very circumspect as to what they said about their communist “leadership”.
Another duty of the PO, especially on the nuclear subs - if there was any deviation from orders they were to scuttle the boat with all hands - including themselves - aboard.
Apparently it’s not hard to send a sub to the bottom for good from the inside if you know what you’re doing, and the POs did.
I would be surprised if our military isn’t infested with Obama’s equivalent of the KGB - probably most of them Muslims, but some may actually be trained by the KGB.
Would expect every ship to have at least one on board at all times, and several assigned to every post.
They probably have a list of all personnel who are a little too Christian, Jewish, or “Patriotic”. When the purge goes hard, they will be going down their little list taking care of business.
Expect lots of “workplace violence” and landfills full of America’s finest... if they don’t wake up and take preemptive measures, that is. Those measures might have to be a little drastic for all I know... which ain’t much really.
For some reason, I don’t think they have a lot of time left, whatever’s coming down.
It would help to know if the Stennis was in the Med or the Persian Gulf on 9 Sep 2012.
Okie sent me this: “I believe the Stennis is in the Arabian Sea. At the time of the Benghazi event, there were no carriers in the Mediterranean.”
See post #10 of this thread.
Thanks. I also saw on another thread that the Stennis is in the Persian Gulf.
Right - they can't have it both ways.
With Obama and Jarrett, maybe they can....eventually, its got to fall apart.
Its going to fall apart, right? Isn't it going to fall apart soon?
With these people in power, this is not the America I grew up in.
I read on another thread that Hillary was trying to get permission from Libya to fly over their airspace - over their borders. Apparently you HAVE to ask for it.
Screw it, US territory was being ATTACKED. The embassy and the consulate are US SOIL. It is WAR. Why do you HAVE to ask Libya for ANYTHING!?
And he just happened to be relieved of his command now - during Benghazi - when it was politically a disaster for Obama - right before the election - right before he said screw it, we're going in to help consulate personnel - while the personnel were under attack - on US soil as consulates and embassies are - after only moments after his second in command apparently relieved Ham under Ham's duress?
I don't think it was a zipper problem.
Do you really think a zipper problem is why Ham was so unceremoniously relieved of his command only moments after he decided the consulate needed back up?
Jeepers. Thanks for the ping!
If it was a bunch of girl scouts I’d agree that they shouldn’t go into an area unless it was safe. But for God’s sake this is the military we’re talking about - and our people were on the ground being slaughtered. Is someone implying that taking out a target that was shooting at our people was too ‘dangerous’ for an airplane? This is bull...
“General Ham then received the order to stand down.”
Good post. Remember, Obama has taken great pride in saying that Libya was liberated without American blood being shed. Obama did not want potential voters to wake up to our uniformed military being KIA.
So, DOD assets were told to stand down as CIA subcontractors, whose presence could be concealed, were tasked with extracting diplomatic assets from the Mission. Also, those operators were familiar with the battlefield and were leveraged with local friendly militia.
As the battlefield was so unshaped and on/off and populated by hostiles of unknown strength and unknown weapons, this was a reasonable tactical choice anyway.
Other rapid response units that could have gotten there would have been too little and too late.
General Ham and Africom, were frustrated that in this theater of their responsibility, they were not in position to act effectively.
Agreed.
