And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.
Heh, heh. NYTexan and I were kickin’ it at an average of 80-85. The trooper prolly wouldn’t have been quite so nice had we encountered him.
Did I tell you how well behaved your kids are? (I meant to.) I enjoyed having your son in the pool room with us. He seemed to be having a good time. He’s so cute. I just had to tussle his hair one time. Think I embarrassed him.

I’m at home now and all rested. Just now looking through this thread and I realize I will have to tell DrO about this. Hilarious. Pen, very pleasant pic of you too....lol.

Yuk...looks like I have a bald spot and a double chin......lol. Walked on treadmill for 30 minutes this morning though. Taking BK to the vet at 2:30 if I can get him in the kennel...lol. Wish me luck. Glad you are all rested up and not hurting too bad from all the travels.

Will do. I just know he is gonna freak when I put him in the car. Probably the last time he was in a car or kennel some ahole was dumping him in front of my house.
Where is NYT? I haven’t seen him posting since we all got back. Hope all is ok.
He works, but you could call him, right? Unlike us, he didn’t get a day off to rest.

I hope to see you again next year and maybe before that provided I can get to Texas to see penelopesire. I know she plans to call you to meet up with you! I sure wish I lived in FW. I loved FW. Not too big and not too small, but with a small town “feeling,” and yet so much to do and go see, what with y’alls wonderful museums and downtown and Stockyard district. Heaven!
I have never been to the Blanco river so that sounds cool to me.
