Cardinal Dolan gives pro-life prayer at DNC
ABC News ^

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York and a leading Catholic-American voice opposing abortion and President Obama’s health care reform law, inserted what some saw as an anti-abortion remark into his benediction Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention.

“Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us to defend it. Life, without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected,” Dolan said in prayer delivered immediately following President Obama’s address accepting his party’s nomination.

Of course, ABC doesn’t report the real story — the level of bile spewed at Dolan by the convention and by Libs afterward.

If you watch the video, you will see the Cardinal made an impact on some of the delegates.

May God bless Cardinal Dolan!

Sad that a 'pro' life prayer is headline worthy, isn't it?

What is the alternative?

Wow, is the DNC mad! They must have followed with some muzzies chopping off the heads of kittens to make up for it.

However uncomfortable, it is necessary to speak truth to power.

It was an interesting benediction. It was certainly a pro-life theme and it was certainly a counter to the dropping of God from the platform. It also included a plug for Romney and Ryan. A pretty good job all-in-all.

Was the best speech of the entire convention.

Oh, and the contortions that sheeperals go through to say they’re not in favor of killing babies...

“it’s not a baby until it’s born”.

Yeah, right... there’s a 50% chance that it’s a wombat, right?

Dolan exceeded my expectations! He is a fighter, after all! He really spelled it out. That took courage in front of the very people who booed God this week.

It’s a shame all the networks (except C-Span) cut away and didn’t show it.

You have to be anti-science and anti-common sense to deny that its a human 2 minutes before its born

It's a wombat! I swear it's a wombat!

It may be anti-science and anti-common sense, but for most women denying that it's a baby, it's a matter of "I committed murder" or not.

"Yeah, right... there’s a 50% chance that it’s a wombat, right?"

It would be cool if women could give birth to power tools. I'd be willing to wait the 9 months if there was a chance a Skil-saw or a new belt sander might pop out. Somehow, it just always seems to turn out to be a baby though...

The guilt is there and it’s real,
and a large percentage of them DO go nuts,

or become alcoholics or drug addicts.
