National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney explains how the secretive agency run its pervasive domestic spying apparatus...

Binney—one of the best mathematicians and code breakers in NSA history—worked for the Defense Department's foreign signals intelligence agency for 32 years before resigning in late 2001 because he "could not stay after the NSA began purposefully violating the Constitution."

In a short video called "The Program," Binney explains how the agency took part of one of the programs he built and started using it to spy on virtually every U.S. citizen without warrants under the code-name Stellar Wind.

It’s a sad sign of the times that this surprises me not in the least.

But do they have real time data base analysis ? Can they do a constant real time search for a specific voice pattern ? And then instantly tap into the identified voice conversation ?

Bizarrely, I think we eventually sold a trike kit to one of them.

Somebody was awake at the wheel.

They might have been forced to analysis each song for any secret messages. You know, play it backwards :>

The quantum computer is something that bears watching. It can perform huge parallel searches and could bring a goodly slice of real time conversations within its mechanical ken. What exists now, probably too cumbersome and clumsy to watch anything close to what they would like to watch.

Or my mind-numbing back-and-forths about dog health/training/genetics/”look what cute thing Fluffy did today” blathering with my best girl friends.

;D

[although, if they track my ebay habits, they’re really gonna wonder about all that ‘leather and studs’ stuff I buy]

LOLOL

You’re right, we do.

And another place nobody suspects is “the phone company”.

FYI, there’s one “local scary place” that, if I speak about it to anybody on the phone, the phone either goes totally crazy and fills with static or disconnects, without fail.

I kid you not.

Another agency to watch: Google Voice.

I love it for its free phone calls. But Google also likes to spy, or at least would have a hard time resisting the temptation. For that reason, Xerox (at which I’m now working as a contractor in Germantown MD) doesn’t want its conference calls patched through Google Voice even though that would eliminate a phone bill to Xerox.
