Stand with a man who said something stupid but means very well or stand with someone who supports abortion.

Alas, I read his statement over and over and without the screaming from the press and (moderate) republicans I just can't see why there is such ado because of it.

The guy has a VERY impressive voting record as a conservative.

He had no business mentioning the “theory” that the bodies of women being forcibly raped put up natural barriers against getting pregnant. That was an eternally stupid thing to bring up. Later, he said he checked with professional sources and now admits that what he said is medically, scientifically untrue.

He then apologized for saying it.

When he was asked about abortion in cases of rape, all he needed to say was, I believe a baby is a living human being and it doesn’t make sense in my beliefs to abort the baby who is alive and who is innocent.

To absurdly start an argument over the “theory” that a woman who is forcibly raped is unlikely to get pregnant, and in the process of bringing that up, actually use the words “legitimate rape”, is so beyond the pale it’s beyond the belief he “went there”.

Even HE admits that now.

He just doesn’t want to suffer the consequences of leaving the race.

Most women can see something wrong with his remarks.

Or as Paul Ryan says, “rape is rape”.

Akin is too ignorant to be a senator.

folks that actually take the time to do what you and I did will likely come to that conclusion if they are old time culture warriors

freepers God love em..are like whale watchers running from one side of a narrow beam boat to the other to see Moby Dick

not just on this issue..but anything contentious

man...I should make a list...starting with Bush 2000 campaign and Elian and go forwards

me...I prefer the doldrums here..easier to stay buddies with folks

in any event at least Akin did not proclaim to hate Sarah Palin and love Mormonism

now that would bring out the real pistols and rapiers

DING, DING, DING, we have a winner.

“Alas, I read his statement over and over and without the screaming from the press and (moderate) republicans I just can't see why there is such ado because of it.

EXACTLY! What is the big deal? The dems screamed, PRETENDING to be offended, and Republicans are so SCARED and have no balls, they immediately jumped on the liberals band wagon. In the progressives back rooms they are laughing uncontrollably at what gullible dupes, fools, and saps we are.

We are Charlie Brown and the Dems are Lucy who keeps on getting us to try and kick that football over and over again as she pulls it away over and over again. We just keep falling for their tricks.
