You sure got that wrong. But do you really want to discuss the aggregate problem?

Akins and those like him have got to go as they are discovered ~ even if they got a multibillionaire backing them. They hurt the party. They hurt the advancement of Conservative principles.

Akins was simply not prepared for handling the MSM ~ And I lay that fault to Priebus and his backers on the National Committee. We have people with a wealth of information and advice concerning these situations ~ they are there to help our candidates 24/7. None seems to have bothered with Akins ~ and yet total control of the US Senate is at stake!

Do we really have a top echelon of professional politicians who have no idea how this thing works?

“Is there anyone who wants this bozo to continue? Egad.”
**************************************************************
Claire McCaskill, Barack Obama, the DNC, Harry Reid....I could go on and on. I wanted him to continue until yesterday when I started to learn more about him.

I read somewhere that his wife supposedly is telling him that he is on a divine, providential mission.

I hadn’t caught up with anything much after getting home from work so didn’t understand what you meant about Connie Mack...just read that he’s “Strongly supporting” Akin. God help Florida...and America.

Here’s the problem now. It’s not JUST the idiotic things he said about women, rape etc...it’s that we’ve gotten to know him since then on Hannity and it just goes from bad to worse.

Hey we quit beating Romney about the head and shoulders as he hurtled pall mall toward an astounding event ~ pulling defeat out of the jaws of otherwise certain victory ~ so why should we give up on this guy so we can focus our efforts on the other races.

If the Democrats think they can get us to do that ~ they'll be dropping all our people left and right.

If we are to focus downticket and leave the rest of it to the MIttbots then we have to focus downticket and pluck the losers from the herd as rapidly as possible ~ within legal standards.

WE got another few minutes on this dude ~ then it's history and Priebus is going to make sure he doesn't get enough campaign money to continue running against one of Satan's own demons!

In American elections, in general, when the Socons show up to vote Republicans win. When they don't Democrat win.

If you think you can do without the Socon vote tell us what the substitute will be ~ and don't tell us 'hey, mo'dem Demmycrats be comin' ~ 'cause NO THEY WON'T. As Harry Truman said 'Democrats given a choice between a real Democrat and a fake Democrat (a Republican) will chose the Democrat every time' ~ still true.

The guy (and many others here at FR) can’t distinguish between principles and politics.

He is also confusing forgiveness as from God in which you confess your sin and the slate is wiped clean and forgiveness from fellow humans. He expects that all he has to do is apologize and the voters will do as God does, and wipe the slate clean. But it doesn't work that way. In the earthly realm, one has to bear the consequences of one's actions, whether or not people forgive you.

He is acting as if he is in the throes of clinical shock. He is not thinking clearly at all and can't understand or accept what he's done. That's the only way to explain his bizarre behavior. He desperately needs someone very close to him whom he trusts to confront him with the truth.

I don’t know who you think you are talking to but I AM NO RINO!!! Everyone (not just me) is talking about how awful the interview was... have you listened to Mark Levin? I have not met Akin but I do not need to do that to evaluate his “cognitive normalcy” ..... It is on full and glorious display all over the radio, the TV, and will soon be the subject of a large percentage of DNC ads.

This will be my final post to you

From listening to him, the guy is clearly in shock and in denial.

Agree 100%. He is creating his own view of the situation because it's too painful to face reality. People (even Romney and Ryan) are trying to make him see the truth, but he can't. At some point, he will come to grips with what has happened and it will shake him to his very core. He will need lots of prayer and nurture, because he will be a beaten man.

You miss the point. It is NOT about Akins cognitive normalcy. It is about the moron voting populace that will determine the outcome. In this modern world there is a disparate population-- the focus of that population generally to eat food, sleep, (sex/love) tv sleep, shower/bathe(maybe), pooh/pee: the EASE of getting these things in a self satisfactory way.

Sorry to say, it is NOT a good picture, but it is the picture of the "base of pyramid" or the "normal distribution curve" and where voters of the television era fall when they jerk their knees.

Unless there is some mystic quality, literally the "show me" State of Missouri, one cannot seeing this happen. In fact, the "show me" part is provably false.I believe this was a planned op long ago to help out an even dumber McKaskill who is a real moron, starting with dem support of him in the open republican primary stacked with dem voters, to choose the opponent. Never could happen in a closed primary system.

I am talking to someone who is willing to throw Akin under the bus based upon the leftist, anticonservative energy generated by McCaskill and her ilk.

He is acting as if he is in the throes of clinical shock.

Yes, he's acting that way. What if he's not in clinical shock, and he believes in everything he has said and done over the last few days?

Now that is frightening.

Yours is a very interesting set of theories. I do not necessarily doubt their veracity. And I believe you and Momto2 have the countrys best interest at heart. I believe both of your hearts are in the right place. I have just seen too many examples of Republicans in September and especilly October besmirched and conservatives stampeded into reacting contrary to their principles. I believe loyalty (which runs both ways) needs consideration. I am not saying you are not loyal, I just see this same type of scenario happen time after time....and it seems only to Conservatives.

since Akin was the pigeon that Granny McCaskill wanted that gave her the best hope of winning in the general election --any idea how many crossover RAT votes he got in the OPEN primary ?

Who knew that a million bucks could not only win a lost Senate seat, but win a national general election, all in the space of two weeks?

To hand the election to The Won?

Or should we just start calling him The Two?

Then he's delusional and you should soon see his supporters and staff dropping by the wayside. There have to be some people close to him who will confront him. They have until Sept. 25 to get a judge to approve his dropping out. Hopefully events will transpire between now and then which will compel them to do the right thing.

Claire McCaskill may be pretty bad, but I’m not sure I’d describe her as “one of Satan’s own demons”.

I suppose they’ll look at the polls as the weeks go bye.

Akin did nothing, NOTHING to elevate himself over the last few days. He was in particularly stupid on Hannity today, even worse than the day before.

He does not come across as some great guy, some brilliant guy, who just “mis-spoke”. He comes across as an incompetent hack, who screwed up big time, and is too stupid, and selfish, to admit it.

He certainly hasn’t fixed this on a national scale, but maybe those of us who have been urging him to get the heck out have done enough to inoculate the rest of our candidates from his mega-political-cooties.

Now he only has to convince the people of the great state of Missouri, show them as they say, that his hackery is preferable to McCaskill’s demonism.

If he does that and is within the margin of error in a LEGITIMATE poll (no snark intended) by mid-October I’d support the party and the pacs putting some money in on his behalf.

Sadly, from what I’ve heard from him and of him the last few days I don’t think it’s likely that he’ll be in that good of a position.

That was all me, being civil. If I said what I really thought, well, civil wouldn’t really describe it.

For now I’m going to put this sorry man out of my mind, if I can, for the duration of the election season.

I tried as hard as I could to get him out. I probably made 20 phone calls between yesterday and today. I failed. I accept it, I’m in the best of company.

I just hope I don’t end up calling up that lady committee member on the day after election day and asking her if she’s happy now that we lost, whatever magnitude of loss there might be because of Mr. Akin.

You two are arguing the case from such 'diverse' quarters that you really aren't dealing with the problem ~ the words belong to Akins. MSNBC and other cable TV sites you shouldn't be watching (and few do) are talking about it like it's the end of the world ~ and typical of all Republicans.

Think about it ~ most of those commentators are known homosexuals ~ and some of them are into some fairly rough sexual practices. They only wish their own partners were as rough as they imagine Republicans are. Akin fires their imagination, but NOBODY IS WATCHING. Americans had their toleration level for gays destroyed by Ellen so there's no more room.

The real issue here is what it's doing to Republican voters, not to Democrat voters. Not one more voter will show up at the polls on election day simply over this issue. At the same time Republicans in Missouri who already voted for somebody else in the primary (2/3 of them!) are likely to say 'Hey, I was right, he's a jerk' ~ and they'll pass right on by his name on the ballot.

McCaskill gets no more votes ~ just we lost votes.

This is why any time you have a candidate who really blows his lines ("I was brainwashed" is a good example) you have to DUMP THE CANDIDATE.

I"ve been advocating since February that we needed to dump the GOP-e faction from the party for example. To an unexpected degree I seem to have gotten the attention of a very specific problem in Virginia and the State Committee has decided that we will have a convention next year in our Gubernatorial candidate selection process RATHER THAN ANOTHER EASILY CORRUPTED OPEN PRIMARY.

The deal is sometimes you have to dump these guys because the magic mix isn't there anymore and they'll just take the whole ticket down to defeat.
