When he stated nature I think he probably meant natural law which is a part of Catholic teaching - God gives us natural law and often we refer to it as nature but all good including nature comes from God.

Your Creator made nature and the laws of nature. This is what Ryan is referencing.

“Coronary artery disease, at 55. Same with his grandfather and great-grandfather, both in their 50s. Let’s hope & pray that modern medical advances will prevent genetic destiny!”

There are some alternative things that really will ‘prevent that genetic destiny’. But modern medical advances are into treating symptoms, not the disease, or the cause of disease. Let’s hope that he ‘discovers’ what they are.

By the way, is there ANY legal or constitutional reason why Ryan could not BOTH be a congressman and VP?

I have a problem with Sharia law. But I am not going to advocate tearing a hole in the First Ammendment for it.

No tearing necessary - Sharia isn't covered by the First Amendment.

Why? Because Sharia is a law. It's not a religion. It's a legal system that would use the 1A to ban the 1A. There is zero possibility that the 1A was created to allow its own annulment. Zero.

And I haven't even gotten into Sharia's women-as-property thing. Or do you think disallowing that would "tear a hole" in the 13th Amendment?

I'm from Illinois and have been following Ryan since he first appeared on the scene as a Conservative, and I signed up to receive his updates from time to time. He's been in Congress for the last 14 years, and as I heard Romney say today, Ryan is a worker bee and plowed ahead to make a difference with his vote...he wasn't concentrating on his next campaign, but on what needs to be done in Congress as a Conservative. Ryan's in my prayers, and you're right, Ryan WILL kick azz.

Of course its the worse recovery in 70 years, when you do the same things FDR and hover did you get the same results.

Precisely - and the worst thing is to allow FDR to blame Hoover for the failure of FDR’s own policies.

Obama “inherited” - actually, he asked for and was given a mandate to fix - a real mess. As he said at the start of his term, he was expected to fix it before the 2012 election. Well, It’s 2012, and here we are in the same mess we were in in 2008 when we elected him, only with much worse threat to our long term prospects. And when I say “long term,” I do NOT want to be understood as meaning, “in the sweet bye and bye.” The “long run” actually arrives PDQ. The part about “the long run” that really stinks is its duration.

if a majority re-elects Obama then America has chosen a socialist future, consciously. As Europe has shown, there is no road back from that choice.

You mean, there's no easy road. There's a way back from anything. It just depends on how hard you need to fall before you figure it out. The Jews found a way back from . . . Babylonia! Hope we don't have to go there before things improve.

"Thank goodness this isn’t about liberals, but about gettng our country back on track!"

Unfortunately it isn't about the libs this time. Now it's the "purists" whom refuse to vote for Romney, even w/ Ryan, a true Tea Party leader, as 2nd hand man.

From what I have seen thus far....most of us dislike and distrust Romney. However; his choice of Paul Ryan was NOT playing it safe, as many of us worried he would.

Some state a VP has no power. Yeah right, hell will freeze over before Ryan just sits there w/ his hands in his pockets as Romney....the scary MORMON, does more harm than barry would.

I have seen a lot of fellow FReepers PRIDE take over their rational thinking.

It will take quite a few elections to bring our country back. We will win some (hopefully more than less, as we have been witnessing) and we will lose some. Such is life.

One thing that sticks in my side.....we call ourselves "the sleeping giant who have now awoke".

HELLO!!!!! WE WERE ASLEEP!!! IT'S OUR OWN DAMN FAULT!

Time for people to swallow their pride and do what needs to get done to get this anti-American OUT, PERIOD, END OF STORY.

And just for my own sanity, I DO hope this emmer effer is taken out in shackles.

You are correct...no easy way back, no way back that you or your children or in all likelihood your children’s children will ever see in their now reduced lives.

We will at the least be condemning generations to the malaise of socialism with no effective ability to alter the circumstances of the gray life that follows.

The left, the lazy, the criminals and the unions are now on top, looting the wealth of the richest society that ever lived. It seems endless to them because they only think of themselves and now. That’s the way of looters. But the wealth to loot will run out, and it will run out rather quickly. And then we all fall into the dark age that comes.

That is what giving Obama another four years of what will be unfettered power means (even if Republicans take both houses, his power will be absolute, he’s shown that already...what army does Congress have to stop him?)

The one in the Pentagon. If Zippy sorta wins and pulls more of that s*@#$, things could get interesting. A lot of niceties go by the wayside in the face of national bankruptcy and depression, although I hope they don't. Praying big-time for Romney-Ryan.
