Poll: Nine percent of Obama ’08 voters want Romney now
Human Events ^ | 8/6/2012 | Hope Hodge

Favor is fickle, and hope and change was easier to promise than deliver on.

A new Gallup poll shows that nearly 10 percent of voters who supported Barack Obama during his 2008 run have decamped and will be supporting Republican challenger Mitt Romney in this next election. At nine percent, the rate of Obama ’08 defectors is nearly double the five percent of former McCain ’08 supporters who now say they’ll cast a vote for Obama.

Partly loyalty is higher in the Republican camp too, with 92 percent of former McCain supporters saying they’re sticking with the red ticket, while only 86 percent of Obama’s 2008 base say they’re staying true.

The poll surveyed more than 2,000 registered voters who punched a ballot in 2008.

Now for some number play: if we make the broad assumption that the poll data is representative of the general population and do some extrapolation, tallying nine percent of 69,456,897 (Obama’s 2008 vote count) and subtracting five percent of John McCain’s 59,934,814 votes, we end up with a potential 3.25 million more votes for Romney than McCain had four years ago. It’s nothing concrete, but it’s becoming clear that election 2012 will be a far different race than 2008 was.

"[Obama is] a decent person, and a person you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."

Next question...?

Total BS.

NO ONE who voted for McCain in 2008 is going to vote for Obama, let alone “5%”

Agree, but again, that's not the story. The story is that if 9% switched and Obama won by 4%, it's over. Factor in on top of that turnout differences, wherein the Dems will see a noticeable (perhaps substantial) drop-off from 08, while GOP will likely see increased turnout, and there are the makings here for a real sizeable electoral college victory.

Then, throw in this little report from Dick Morris: http://www.dickmorris.com/the-real-poll-numbers/

“92 percent of former McCain supporters saying they’re sticking with the red ticket.”

I call B.S on their poll. 150% will vote red because 3 more of my children became voters while the economy tanked and want nothing to do with the Democratic party in any way. They also got married or engaged so that’s 6 new voters who will vote RED. The RNC better get it together because we are coming for them next.

Holy crap Obama must be sh*tting bricks.

9% of his voters ADMIT they won’t vote for him.
That means 15-20% won’t vote for him in addition to those who don’t want to sound racist.

Add the people who wont show up at the polls.

Freeper mormon bashers

Nope, not voting for a real dem either....but then his being mormon is not the only reason I will not vote for him you can add his stance on taxes, gays, health care, guns, abortion, regulations...gee, how many other things did I miss?

The people who will not vote for him because he is a mormon cultist are not going to suddenly lose their morals and vote Obama who was raised in islam.

If I could barely make myself vote for McCain there is no way I will sink to voting Romney...I am just done with the downward move to being the dem party.

“what kind of idiots did McCain attract that now support Obama?”

My guess would be none. How many times in a blog do you see someone declare that they have been a Republican for life but simply cannot stand Bush/Romney/McCain - you pick the person. Libs love to lie to pollsters and on blogs and let on that the Pubbies have become so difficult to stomach that they finally wised up and tried to try out the other side. Hard to believe, but libs lie!

Obama, A$$elrod, et al., be afraid, be very afraid. My sister lives in Fl.

1. She is lying to the Polls. She claims she loves Obama and will vote for him.

2. 100% of the people she knows who voted for Obama WILL NOT VOTE him this time around.

3. 100% of the youth vote, that she is aware of, who could not vote in 2008 is voting for ABO come November.

Obama be afraid, be very afraid. : )

Why be forced to vote, in the majority, for two leftists, only?

previously posted by myself:

1) i’ve posted numerous times that from my observations 90% of the people in my area (and i live in liberalsville, NY) who voted for obama in ‘08 want him replaced- i get the idea they will vote for Romney or not vote at all...

2) this anti-obama intensity is even greater amongst young voters, who usually tell me how much they like the anti-obama t-shirt i am wearing or give me a thumbs up on my anti-obama bumper sticker....the same people who were washed up with obama four years ago...

the fury against obama, in my area anyway where 8 of 10 people had obama stickers on their cars four years ago, is growing daily...even the ardent obama supporters in my gym, who i was going toe-to-toe with over the winter, meekly walk around and NEVER talk politics anymore...

an update from today...

at the gym this morning a Jewish woman walked up to me to let me know a former democrat was holding a meeting at the local Elk Lodge to start a campaign of citizens in the area voting for Romney- they were having veterans, Tea Party people and plenty of media...i could not attend as i had to work but the mere fact this is happening in my area (i live two miles from the clintons and 1 mile from RFK Jr, where 63% of the vote went to mullah obama in 2008) is unheard of...

Yeah, in addition to being without rain and the drought here in the midwest, I suspect millions in this country are without a brain too!
