Claiming to have amnesia is just going to fuel the fantasies of the superstitious. I look forward to countless rants on how he’s not responsible because he was possessed now.

The jailhouse food is okay. It’s the fecal matter in it that causes the stomach to hurt.

Yeah right. He was able to send a notebook about what he was going to do, bobby trap his appt and for 2 months or so looked online and bought all his gear and other items for this event he now says he doesn’t know why he is in jail.
I am not buying it, sorry.
Makes a person wonder what kind of research was being done in those research projects and if they were using each other for guinea pigs....
He managed to remember that he’d booby-trapped his apartment and told the cops about it after his arrest. So much for the amnesia excuse. Maybe his defense will be “selective amnesia.”
I wonder if toxicology tests were given when he was arrested.
It took months and months to build those bombs in his apartment.
Real amnesia is so rare that this claim should not be taken seriously. The last real amnesia case I’ve heard of was a female college student in WA state. She apparently became like an infant and had to be raised all over again. No faking that.
It is a shame that Colorado does not have an active Vigilance Committee.

Having had a very close relative who was a paranoid schizophrenic, I can tell you that this is not at all unusual. One of the reasons my relative never got treatment was that at times, she seemed perfectly sane - but this was essentially her “crazy self” that was telling her that it was time to act sane for one reason or another (usually an encounter with law enforcement).
Many people who are mentally ill in a classic sense - that is, something beyond their control that takes over their lives - are also a little on the neurotic side and their neuroses (desire for attention, etc.) function in tandem with their psychosis.
It’s not surprising that psychosis was considered demonic possession once upon a time, because it really is as if some other force has taken over these people’s lives. But it is a very canny, wary force and it is devoted to its self-preservation.
If you don’t read the Bible or aren’t Catholic, look up Gadarene swine. Of course, Jesus sent them over the cliff and they all perished, but most demons want to live to fight another day.
