6,000 rounds is a "mind boggling stash of ammo" ???
Then again, modern Britain is a place where they've been known to go into a panic because a single round of .22LR was found on the street .
The handwringing over this is just amazing. . . .and yet no mention of the three hero boyfriends who died, protecting their dates. . . .
I wonder how many rounds the patriots used in 1780s? Maybe we’re a little more prepared to keep our government in check than they are?
To be fair, 6,000 rounds sounds like a lot more than it really is. If I didn’t know better I’d imagine a small warehouse full.
And most of that ammo was for a high-powered military assault rifle!
I’m very pro 2nd Amendment and I’d consider it a noteworthy quantity, particularly when held by someone who exhibits any kind of odd behavior.
Servile pukes.
A couple of friends and I used to go “plinking” with .22s and go through nearly a 3rd of that in an afternoon. We bought ammo in a 2000 round canister.
Granted it was cheap ammo so we had a fair number of misfires.
One case of .22 LR is 5000 rounds, and will fit under the seat of a pickup truck.
I’m in the industry, and our company has to order in ammunition from time to time. We’ve had as much as 800,000 rounds on hand at once.
They’d go into seizures if they knew what many of we Freepers and preppers had stashed.
1,000 rounds of .45 cal ammo weighs 49 pounds. The package is not that large, it is the weight. .22 Caliber will weigh less, but still quite heavy.
A case of 22rf is 5000 rounds just a nice amount for a year of light practice.
I wonder what the headlines would read if they were to uncover the muzzies stash of explosives hidden on their soil. Just saying.
The gun grabbers are going to come after internet sales of ammo. They’ve already dabbled in this area with the aborted attempt by the EPA to ban lead ammo, and with the unbelievably large purchases of ammo by the government that have so severely limited the supply to civilians. An outright ban of ammo sales over the internet will be the next step - they’ll make it require an FFL to sell in quantities larger than 50 rounds.
Except, of course, Holmes hadn’t exhibited “sufficiently odd” behavior to prohibit ownership of weapons or ammo.
Hell, I’ve got that many rounds of ammo (and more) for my old Mosin-Nagant, simply because I picked up 10 cases of ammo for a song at a estate auction (8800 rounds. Cost me 35 bucks. . . ) And 3 more rifles for 100. . .
No kidding, every day I say less and less.Even the sacred lake where it all fell in must be a sworn secret.
“,particularly when held by someone who exhibits any kind of odd behavior.”
I would recommend slow ahead, on comments like that....some may see, posting on FR, as “odd behavior”
To prevent duplication, please do not alter the published title. Thanks.

BWHAHAHA, You are so right. I get the twitches when mine drops below say a platoon level load out.
450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammo is mind-boggling.
Well, you’ve introduced the “odd behavior” additional factor, but 6000 rounds is not much at all and many recreational shooters will have that and more. Depending on the caliber, it may not even take up much space. See the attached link for a 5,000 round brick:

Six thousand is just about the number in the boxes I use as bookends..
It is amazingly well past time to replenish the stock!
If there were a larger story - and there is - it goes unnoticed. Until Rush tells them what it is.
Sorry, link truncates. Do a 22lr ammo search and click on the 5000 option. It is $195 for 5,000 rounds.
I wasn't suggesting...or even implying...any such thing.I'm a fairly prolific poster here I'm certainly not "odd".
Well,at least not *very* odd ;-)
(Damn!)
You probably wouldn't want to know what I have in my storage unit. I knew $139 cases of FMP and Hirtenberger 308 probably wouldn't come around again anytime soon.
Brits who write this drivel know as much about guns and ammo as they do about fornicating with heterosexuals. [No sex, please, we're British.]
How many rounds did our government order recently?
I’m with you on this”mind-boggling”stash of ammo. The way things are going in this country,6,000 rounds isn’t”mind-boggling”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some peoples' minds are easily boggled.
Did you read the whole article? A lot of good info, interviews, pics, etc.. Yeah, they’re screwy about the ammo, but there’s a heck of a lot more stuff in that booby-trapped apartment!
THEY ARE DESTROYING ALL THE EVIDENCE THAT MIGHT PROVE THAT
THIS CREEP DID NOT ACT ALONE!
“THEY ARE DESTROYING ALL THE EVIDENCE THAT MIGHT PROVE THAT
THIS CREEP DID NOT ACT ALONE!”
NO THEY’RE NOT! They are removing and disarming all the explosive devices in the booby-trapped apartment, so they can save evidence. Did you read the lengthy article? It’s pretty clear.
I guess that means my inventory could only be seen as stupefying
Well...it sounded as though his ammo stash was being EODd into oblivion. If the ammo was the same as anyone else can legally buy....
BTW, is this being investigated by local law enforcement, or has Holder’s DOJ weaseled their way in?
Anyway, the aftermath of this horrible massacre smacks of conspiracy, coverup, backdoor gun control, you name it.
Holmes is somebody’s torpedo or cat’s paw or hit man or fall guy. Yes, I’m that suspicious. And what’s with all the double underlined blue script lately?
“Holmes is somebodys torpedo or cats paw or hit man or fall guy. “
I agree,,,, I think there were others involved. He rigged his stereo with a timer to start blasting music at the same time he made his assault. Figured someone would open the unlocked door, and trip off all the explosives, destroying all evidence. Thank God that didn’t happen!
On my mobile right now. I think I need to see this on my desktop widescreen to get the full effect, to give it the respect it deserves.

I had a VW just like that one, the Wolfsburg emblem on the hood. It had `Fahrt’ engraved on the ignition switch and gave me a giggle every time I turned the key.
You can fit 1000 rounds of .223 on stripper clips in a .50cal ammo can. Pistol ammo should pack at least to that density, shotgun shells, not so much...

That was my attempt at being sarcastic. Anytime a weapon is used to commit a crime, the media will always try to give people the impression that only the military has a legitimate use for high-capacity, high-powered, type weapons, especially if it’s a AR or AK type variant.
He may have acted alone, or he may have been a patsy.
I still want to here how he got into the theater. The local multiplex has alarms on the emergency exits, and the lights go one if they get opened. That and it sounds like someone let him in.

Eggs Ackley! Conspiracy!
