ABC News and Brian Ross are apologizing for an "incorrect" report that James Holmes, the suspect in the Colorado theater shooting, may have had connections to the Tea Party.
"An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect," ABC News said in a statement. "ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted."
In a similar statement released minutes earlier, ABC News said the report was "incorrect" but, rather than apologize, wrote: "Several other local residents with similar names were also contacted via social media by members of the public who mistook them for the suspect." The statement appeared at first to be an attempt byt the network to abdicate responsibility for the report.

Having recently talked to a liberal I would say that their brains were engaged but that their brains are whacked. It probably was purposeful but they really believe it.
And that's what's so odd about their bias in general. The Left has shown, again and again, that they have a taste for violence - and yet, they're forgiven. The MSM crew has absolutely no fear of them, regardless of how violent they really are.
But the Tea Party? Regardless of how violent it isn't - heck, they even clean up after themselves when protesting - the MSM and liberals show a clear pattern of fear. A calm and rational non-conservative would write off the spirited rhetoric as people just sounding off, given that the strong words do not lead to any violent incidents.
You've latched on to something, all right. They know what they do, and they fear payback. Else, they're just exhibiting the kind of paranoia that springs from a guilty conscience.
I’ve seen it a thousand times. The charge is made in huge print on page A1 and the retraction is on page D34.

This is done on purpose. When’s the last time you’ve seen a report of some violence that ID’d the suspect as a left wing looney or a OWSer......???? It is always a “right wingnut” or TPA with a retraction days later on page 23. The bias is obvious, especially if they can spin their “mistake” later into something innocent.....Uh Huh....yeah.....right.....

If Breitbart’s researched information is is declared accurate and true then Colorado Tea Party should not sue ABC if if if ABC agrees to add the words “a registered Democrat” after the shooters name every time it is mentioned on the air on ABC.
For those who are getting upset, I wouldn’t get too overworked about this.

Have ANY of the ‘mistakes’ made by the MSM ever be ones where liberals were trashed? It’s a pattern with news organizations - ‘mistakes’ are always against conservatives.

About the only ones listening to Big Media are talk radio producers who catch it and immediately get it on the air.

Oh, well, the Tea Party’s off the hook, but Sarah Palin is still in ABC’s crosshairs.
Just because we want small and LIMITED government we are besmirched and impugned when a catastrophe hits. I for one am sick of it and this will not stand. The members of the Tea Party (and no card is required) should INUNDATE ABC and DISNEY with e-mails, calls and other means of communication including the refusal to spend money at the Mice Hovels until this type of abhorrent behavior on the part of “journalists” is repudiated and Mr. Ross is FIRED along with every producer responsible.

These “journalists” suspect to begin with that these shooters are generally, registered Democrats, Obama voters, Occupy participants, and Al Gore followers; so they are forced to GET THE LIE OUT THERE right off the bat, so the “Tea Party/Sarah Palin” are blamed immediately. They know what they’re doing by getting the lie around the world before the truth has a chance to even get its pants on.
This will be different... this should go BIG TIME out into the media world..... This is blatant partisan hope to pin a tactical wound against half the nation... that the conservative side during an election season. George should NEVER be allowed to panel or host a debate... NEVER! He is tarred! Put this guy out there a LATINO HISPANIC TEA PARTY member...! This is the DNC’s worst nightmare!
When someone named John Smith commits an atrocity and ABC is responsible for 50 revenge murders, are they just gonna apologize for that too?

A nice settlement for Mr. Holmes and a nice ‘infusion’ of $100 million from ABC/DISNEY (think ‘Avengers’ box office) into assorted ‘Tea Party’ coffers just before the election should smooth things over...
