I think the Justices have telegraphed the results. Here's why.

Steven King offered up an amendment to an appropriation bill that would have defuneded it.

With that said. What exactly has the house done about Obamacare lately?

NOT A DAMN THING!

I actually got dealt a straight flush once, but it was 10 high not ace high. Still pretty good.

Not only that, but business still can not move forward. Romney is only a 4-8 year fix. The next president could easily cancel the waver.

This things must be killed.

I don’t think Romney will be willing (regardless of what he is saying) to do that.

I agree. I think many are thinking short term instead of long term. The Dems have done a great job of convincing people *in the short term* that disagreeing with them = judicial activism. 20 years from now, nobody is going to remember which were the hot-button issues of the day and which weren’t. They WILL remember, however, rulings that don’t seem to make sense. Historians will remember if the SCOTUS bowed to pressure from the White House.

If I’m a SC Justice, I’m more concerned about my long term legacy than my short term legacy. I can handle hippies not liking me for a few months until they rot those brain cells. Not so keen, though, on history judging me as a hack for all eternity. If the Justices think the way I do (and I have no idea if they do), the attacks on their integrity make Obamacare LESS likely to be upheld.

I just wish I shared the confidence of the majority of FR... :/

First of all, I do not think the GOPe really want to shut down Ocare. Sadly unless they actually have a budget the mine has already been appropriated, and can't be defunded unless they have a budget, and the Senate won't even bring up the subject, in the meanwhile Hillary just gave 2 billion to the nuts in Rio.

The Republicans have one weapon which I doubt they will use, that is the debt ceiling, they have muffed everyone of those, I guess because they sort of fear shutting the government down.

Spineless comes to mind, otherwise they would have run a conservative, if there really is one anymore.

I read a breakdown of which party each justice addressed questions to during oral argument.
The conservatives challenged the government by at high percentages (Alito- %95, Scalia- %87, Roberts- %78, and Kennedy %80).
The four on the left directed a very high percentage of their questions to the opponents of the law.
That seems to be the most predictive indicator of how a justice will vote.
Just for what it’s worth I think the mandate goes down 5-4 and the part that requires coverage of pre existing conditions goes with it. Note that the administration submitted a filing requesting the court to strike he pre existing coverage provision should the mandate go down.

I thought I had typed Dec 1941, which was when Pearl Harbor was attacked and signaled the beginning of our entry into WWII. Sep 1862 was the single most bloody battle of the bloodiest war by far we ever engaged in - Antietam. Perspective is a valuable characteristic to have if you ever want to lead, or follow.

If Obama can do 180s at will, Romney can pull one off too.

“Part of me hopes that Thursday morning I’ll climb out of the shower and towel off, take a sip of coffee, turn on the TV and see Juan Williams pitching a fit on FOX because it has been COMPLETELY overturned.

“BUT I just can’t shake this gut feeling and it’s killing me. Damn!”

Oh come on now, Juan Williams is not 100% in Obama’s corner. After all, Juan got fired from NPR, one of the LMM for voicing his own opinion on something which was counter to the one NPR held.

On some issues romney is doing 360’s... all depends on who he is talking to.

Also.. don’t forget the MSM.. They don’t point out Zero’s 180’s...

They will point out Romney’s once they get the machine cranked up.

Romney is the weakest candidate the GOPe could come up with. The MSM and Obama will be sure to point out EVERY weakness he has.

Romney is to “nice” to do the same with Zero.

Yes, the layers are starting to be peeled back and Americans are finally getting a look at who he really is. I am finally able to watch some of his appearances on TV ....it’s amusing to watch him lose his cool and his mojo....HA!

HMMM, NPR seems to be the only place where I can listen to classical music. However, I don’t think that makes me a communist because I listen to that.

If that was a slam on Fightin kentuckin, he/she was proven correct. Their is a defference between being a doom and gloomer and a reailsts. Should you i.q ever exceed your hat size, maybe you can descern the difference.
