Quinnipiac’s polled this question repeatedly and their numbers are strikingly static too:
I’ve always assumed that the flatness of this data is due to people reserving judgment on O’s economic record for as long as they can. They like him personally and want to give him the benefit of the doubt so they’re waiting to see if he might yet still have a few bonanza jobs reports up his sleeve. But now I don’t know. The May jobs report was so awful and the prognosis for the rest of the year so grim that I figured we’d see some movement in this metric this time. Nope.

I continue to believe this is the chief failing of modern conservatism:
The failure to defend Bush.
In 2007 the new senator Obama joined a landslide of democrats flush from campaign donations made by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Dodd, frank and others deregulated the GSEs who paid for the election. Bush had urged repeatedly for stronger congressional oversight.
The democratic house and senate popped the financial bubble. The impending election of Obama in the fall of 2008 deepened the decline.
Despite these obvious facts you will find here in 2012 an abundance of freepers waxing eloquent on bush bad.
For me, I think if Obama loses the election on bush did it then I would absolutely prefer bush to return for a third term over a Romney presidency.
Well, look at the stinking facts.

Hell, Bush wouldn't defend Bush.
He spent most of his time hiding under the bed in the WH Master Bedroom.
That COULD explain why no one else lifed a finger either.
No Democrat would blame Obama for poor economy and these pools are skewed towards Democrats.
If more Democrats than Republicans were polled then indeed more people blamed Bush.
Yet another example of how frustratingly ignorant the American electorate is. Government schools have done their nefarious “best” to bring us to this juncture.

This only proves the repetitive propaganda by the MSM Pimps and Prostitutes is being believe by a portion of the public. That said, I have my personal doubts as to the accuracy of the polls .... remember Wisconsin when the exit polls showed the progressives winning. What was discounted was that at least 16% of the voters polled during the exit from the polls lied to the pollsters to make them go away and not to be hassled by the union thugs.

They must only be polling blackareas cause that is the only people I still hear saying that crap. I am sure a few other deluded whites believe so also but blacks are the only ones I hear saying it now.
I always thought that he thought it was beneath the dignity of the office, or his own dignity, to do so. And what was then damaged? He served two terms!
If you look at the detail, it is because 50% of REPUBLICANS still blame him either strongly or moderately. When you go over to the other side of the poll, you have just a 20% or so of Democrats blaming Obama either strongly or moderately.
I can’t imagine half of republicans still blaming bush over 3 years later. I think they got snookered when they did the polling.
Pointless, garbage poll. Ok, just for sake of argument let’s say Bush is at fault. Let’s say the Ameican people think ole W started the fire. Buuuuut, in 2008 they called the fire department that is Barak Hussein Obama. He showed up, unrolled the hose and sprayed gas on the fire. When the voters complained about it his response was not to stop spraying gas but to point out that he did not start the fire.
Perception becomes the truth. The media has been very good at repeating Obama’s and the dem’s lies often enough to drive their message.
We now have the most ignorant electorate in the history of American elections. I believe we have the most corrupt government and media our country has ever seen.
Things are bad, very bad for many, yet this race remains Obama’s to lose.
Like so many other things in life, people don’t realize what they have, until they have lost it.
The useful days of polling are past. With caller id most people avoid polls. And since the polled suspect the polling company of tracking responses and feeding it to campaigns and union thugs, few people answer honestly. Why risk reprisals? Just lie and vote your true opinion in the secret ballot.
Truth be told, Bush could have handled the whole TARP thing better, and he screwed it up some, which contributed to a recession right at the end of his eight years. Then Obama came in claiming he would make everything great, and instead prolonged and deepened the recession into a new dismal norm. Thus, although I am no big fan of Bush and maintain he was far better than Obama, I might answer "yes" if asked if Bush was at least "moderately" responsible for the recession.
Sarbanes-Oxley was passed during Bush’s first term. It was praised by the whole political class and signed by Bush. It all started with Sarbanes-Oxley as it depressed small business.
